I just posted about the K&N- check it out. Only thing you have to worry about in AZ is the roads that flood when it rains- you can't drive through any standing water w/ a CAI that hangs- especially the K&N- it hangs super low, even with the bottom of the bumper panel in front of the left tire.
If I were down in AZ (which is where my parents live, consequently, so I spend a good bit of time there) I would wrap my CAI in a heat shroud as well.

sure you can drive through standing water. you think everyone out there with a cai does circles around a puddle? unless the puddle is like a foot deep, it's not going to be a problem. i know that it does rain in az (it has to, right?), but i seriosly doubt that there's enough rain to ever cause a problem. maybe seattle or oregon, somewhere like that where it rains 250 days a year. it's harder than people think to hydrolock a motor, just driving through a little puddle isn't going to do it. i have a massive 8" k&n filter on the end of my cai, and it hangs down to about the bottom of the wheel well, just as low or lower than the k&n cai, and i have never had a problem with it and i don't anticipate having one.

oh i'm not saying that it doesn't happen because it does. it's just that people act like every puddle that they go through is going to hydrolock their motor, and it most definetly won't. if you're driving through water that's at or above your filter then you need to rethink your driving habbits!

That's what I try to get through to people, you have to almost go through water that's deep enough to come into the car to submerge the filter unless they're running through it too fast and it's just deep enough to slosh up over the filter and pull the water into it.

Then again, Once you have hydrolocked a motor - I locked a honda 1.6, myself(with a short ram, no less). funny, same exact situation, flowing water I didn't think was too deep...bye bye motor - You are generally a lot more careful. I drive around deep water and I have a short ram on the srt-4. Once bitten, twice shy.

Jameshushek - we have the same story - I would love to hear more about yours. I went from a locked honda to the srt-4, too(thus my name - PHR). Luckily I got someone I know to replace the motor for 700$ installed and got something for the ol' honda in trade.
