LAST NIGHT I INSTALLED THE MOPAR/BORLA EXHAUST. NOW MY TURBO IS ALOT LOUDER SPOOLING UP. IS THAT NORMAL? ALSO IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE THAT NECK SNAPPING ACCELERATION LIKE IT USED TO. ANYONE ELSE'S TURBO GET ALOT LOUDER WITH THE UPGRADED EXHAUST? IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE A BOOST LEAK.

RE: TURBO IS LOUDER NOW?????
its normal, the reason for the less neck snapping accelration is becasue the exhaust flows better so the turbo spools sooner and has more low end torque.

PSI Chichk knows better than i do.

RE: TURBO IS LOUDER NOW?????
It shouldnt be to much louder but you will be able to hear it more when boosting. changing out your downpipe will make it louder. and intake also helps you hear it. if you think its to loud go ahead and check to make sure you tightened everything correctly. cant hurt to double check installs.

O and the exhaust should give you a noticeable amount of trq. but an upgraded exhaust will be more noticable in the midrange to high range rpm and higher speeds.

and woosh if it gave more low end trq you would have more break neck accelration.

has your boost changed under WOT conditions? you shouldn't notice any differences except some louder sounds and some burbles and such under deceleration... turbo shouldnt' sound louder, nor should there be any gain/loss of acceleration... with no other mod's, the exhaust is just a noise adder really.

torque is what gives you jolting take offs so if you add more torque why would you loose your jolting? if you put an exhaust that was to wide it would ruin your jolting take offs. but mopar isnt to big.

RE: TURBO IS LOUDER NOW?????
OK, I JUST WENT OUT ON MY LUNCH BREAK. IN SECOND, IT'S SPIKING AT 15 PSI, BUT THEN DROPING DOWN TO 10 OR SO, WHICH IT NEVER DID BEFORE. BOOST LEAK? IT ALWAYS HELD AT ABOUT 13 OR 14.

I DON'T KNOW WHY I'D BE LOOSING BOOST THOUGH, I JUST PUT THE EXHAUST ON. NO MODS UNDER THE HOOD OR INTERCOOLER TUBES OR ANYTHING

RE: TURBO IS LOUDER NOW?????
WELL NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, WHEN I WAS TAKING THE LAST SECTION OF THE STOCK EXHAUST OFF,(CLOSEST TO THE FRONT OF CAR) I WAS PULLING AND SHAKING IT BACK AND FORTH TO WORK IT OFF. COULD THAT HAVE SHOOK SOMETHING LOOSE UP TO THE TURBO? ALSO WOULD AN EXHAUST LEAK CAUSE THE BOOST NOT TO HOLD? LIKE IF I DIDN'T TIGHTEN THE CLAMPS GOOD ENOUGH.

RE: TURBO IS LOUDER NOW?????
the exhaust shouldn't create a boost leak like you are describing. I'd check all the plumbing on the turbo... this problem sounds familar for some reason, and I think there was a fix (or at least somewhere to specifically check)... but my mind is cloudy... anyone recall??
