RE: warr ????????stage 1 stage 2
Ah, but that phrase applies to all three Stages And of course, the exact wording in the warranty book does not say that "use of off-road parts voids your warranty". I can use the vehicle "off-road" and not be racing. Unlikely? Yes. But this is legalese, not reality
The cannot claim that "racing voids your warranty" and then say, "Oh, we didn't tell you, but we consider "off-road use" to be racing, even though we never stated that in the warranty booklet.
But my point was that nowhere on the Stage 3 box, or paperwork does it state that Stage 3 "voids your warranty". Any more or less than ANY of the Stage kits.

From the Turbo Toys install sheet. Page 1,
"Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition, or if they fail as the result of modification"
"Not legal for use on pollution-controlled vehicles, or vehicles registered for highway use"
The first has enough legal wiggle room to drive a Sprinter through, really But I can't recall anywhere where it said in my warranty booklet where I had to maintain the vehicle in a "registered for highway use" status to retian warranty coverage.

I hear you on the "enough room to drive a sprinter through". Sometimes you need a law degree to nail down what those disclaimers mean. My point was this; I read somewhere that Mitsubishi was going to SCCA events and such, and reporting what cars were used for racing. Then the poor unsuspecting EVO owner shows up at the dealer and finds the car is restricted!!! That's just plain being nasty to your customers. I don't think DCX would go to those lengths, but I wonder if they keep track of vin numbers when people order stages for their cars. I generally am very flexible with SRT's that come in with mods. I can't cover stupidity, but if you have stage 3 and your wheel bearing gets noisy, thats not a problem. However, holes in the oil pan or broken axles with stage 3 could pose a problem. I try very hard to work WITH people, not against. I have seen my share of modified Ram's in here over the years and we generally do our best to treat people fairly. Alot has to do with how you approach the service dept on issues. If someone comes in and say's "I screwed up, is there any way you can help me"?......I do everything I can do. If someone shows up demanding something thats not rational, they're most likely going to be a problem.

Mitubishi dealers were checking local autocross results on the internet and restricting peoples waranties. That is low. I read that some guy dumped his trans and the dealer found his name and car on SCCA's results and voided his waranty. Cost the guy $10,000. I think I read it in Autoweek. At least the parts for our cars are not nearly as expensive as Subaru's or Mitubishi's.

I've called a few dealerships, and was told that my powertrain warranty would be voided if I were to put Stage 3 on my car. Which is technically true. Yes, for "off-road use only", but as someone stated earlier, to a DCX rep, or DCX SM that means, "for non-warrantied cars only". I'm just stating what I've known from experience, and from hearing it for myself.
I don't know one car with Stage 3 that still has their full warranty. If you can point one out, I'd like to know what dealer did that for them....cause if ever I want stage 3, I'm THERE!

According to the dealer I used to work for, it was non-warranteeable. According to Elmwood Dodge, Lincoln Dodge, Boch Dodge, Paul Bailey's Dodge, and MM Dodge....it was non warranteeable also. So like I said, if anyone can find me an S3 SRT with a full 3/36 still in tact, or a full bumper-to-bumper extended warranty fully in tact....Id like to know.
