I think he's just talking smack. Like the ol guy with the cooper I ran into. He's just pushing your buttons. Push come to shove, I'll bet he backs down. I cant imagine anyone who is even a little car savvy, with a car like that, actually wanting to race for a thousand dollars. Is he that dumb?

 

Race the saturn on a 2nd gear roll like at 25 - 30 mph. That will be a garanteed win. If you race of the line, you have chance of losing because of grip. You will smoke it. Dont worry.

 

Well the results are in. We did race for money but nearly as much as they had fist mentioned. It only ended up being for 100 bucks. We started from a 25 mph roll and man i smoked him. He pulled ahead at first do to the super charger but after that it was llike no challenge, expecially once i hit third gear it was like he almost stopped trying. I only took it up to about 110 mph then i slowed down for him to catch up as he was about four and a half car leangths behind. Turns out that his precious redline isnt as fast as he thought it was lol.

I agree, if it is respect you are looking for, let him actually drive your car, this way no excuses can be made about the way they lost a $100 to a NEON. When somebody gets behind the wheel in our cars for the 1st time there is either a smile from cheak to cheak, or a wtf surpising look on their face. So I say let him keep his grand and he'll have a crap load more repect for your car once when he stomps on that gas pedal.

I want more details. What did he say afterwards? Did you offer to trade cars or let him drive yours? What ya gonna get with your 100?
An oil catch can would be a good start and maybe a new shift **** in my opinion.

Now - I just thought I'd mention, that you should have gotten the jump at that speed anyway, supercharger or not, we are way into powerband at 25 mph. Once you get the launch down a little better, it will be even more decisive. He can probably drive pretty well, too, if he got the jump at that speed. Either way, nice.
