Default lturbo noise

my turbo seem to be making a really low continuous honking noise when it gets to 5 lbs of boost and higher. it has the normal high pitch spooling up noise, but is the low tone horn noise normal? hard to discribe the noise, thats all i could think of to compare it to.

I am a little confused as to the noise you are describing, but if it sounds like air leaking and causing it, then you might want to pressure test the car. Try tightening your intercooler piping at all 4 points and the outlet on the turbo. Check your vaccuum hoses to make sure you don't have a crack.

All four of my hoses were loose. I had never touched them before, so it could be possible.

checked hoses....they were all tight. its hard to discribe the noise, to me it sounds like a car horn, just not very loud. also, has anyone had any oil on the bottom intercooler hose, right around the clamp? I notice oil on mine and took it to the dealer. they said it was assembly lube from the factory, and the inside had no oil in it. it has been a week and a half now and i still have oil on the bottom of the hose. I can't find any oil leaks anywhere else on the car, so I don't have any clue of where it is coming from. any idea's?

that oil is coming from the pcv. normal in any turbo/supercharged car. get an OCC. that'll take care of it

Assembly lube from the factory. [8D] Hahahaha - dealers are great aren't they. I suppose if one took off the hose and showed them the small pool of oil that resides in the bottom of the intercooler due to the excess pcv runoff, they would say that is lube, too?

Some dealers will say anything. At least now you know they are full of it. Maybe there is a better dealer nearby?

And, practically everyone who drives an SRT-4 has seen some oil down there at some point or another. The OCC helps, but you need a check valve, as well, to completely eliminate it.
