not to encourage anyone to become a statistic, but has anyone tried the application test for "the bury the needle" club. if you don't know what i'm talking about then check out the cool clip of a srt-4 going to if not exceding 160 mph (the last increment on the srt-4's speedometer). i personnally haven't gathered the nerve since i first bought it to really push it. a few months after buying, almost stock (K&N air filter), i maxed out at 152 mph before the ecu cut boost. now, with just the mods done to the engine(stage 1, bov, performance air filter, and exhaust) i would imagine it would be a small feat to getting another 7 mph. but again that hypothesis has yet to be proved. anyone safely try it out yet?

 

Na, wanna see if I get any grandchildren...seriously, when the guys/gals at the PD ask, "How fast will that thing go?", I show them the video clip. Shuts 'em up real fast. Best "argument ender" I've ever had. Also, I've got only 900 miles on the engine, wanna get at least one more oil change before I push it to the limit..[sm=smiley20.gif]

 

i should wait til my next oil change as well (#3), but i'll let you know if i get there before you try.

man i suck, i got to 140 last night and i chikened out going all the way, [:-]the road just doesn't ever seem long enough, and with other motorist around i wasn't going to go that crazy. i did however make the driver of a two tone focus wet himself. he saw me, and whether he knew what i had or just my big wing, he had to get ahead of me before the light. [>:]so i kept a conservative distance from his car, btw how do you like my silvannia silverstars in your rear view mirror? as soon as it was safe to pass, ford boy was motioning to check the incoming lane, edging to the line. i saw the way was all good and passed him (and three other cars on a flat run), no bravado, i was late meeting some friends. honest! but the way was still pretty clear, but the focus never made his pass. i hope he has those new stain free slacks![sm=smiley36.gif]

 

Still, 140 ain't bad. I think I'm going to open mine up on Interstate 35 between here and Austin. Will probably be at around 5 a.m., when traffic is light and cops are finishing up their last free cup of coffee of the night at the local donut shop before shift change at 6 a.m. Hope to hell I don't hit a deer, or even worse, a stray cow!![sm=smiley4.gif]

That's true. Nary a day goes by that I don't get at least one or two "double-takes". And that's without blipping the gas or doing a burnout. It's enough to make you think your fly is unzipped....[sm=smiley36.gif]
