Ridicule at the track...
ORIGINAL: wordslayer
kinda funny story:
On my first night at the track, this guy comes up to me and was talking to me about my car. He later brought his car by for me to see.
Hmmm,,,,,how do I say this?
Okay,,,he had this Kia Sophia.
Man,,,,want to talk about ricey looking, this car was all that. He had wheels, but they weren't like custom wheels. They were some kind of stock wheels that he bought off of ebay that he painted black. Man,,,they were ugly. He had the car lowered, and he had tried to make it look good, but whew,,,,,,it was just bone ugly. Now,,,let me say this. I am biased, because I can't imagine any one wanting to buy a kia.
Okay,,,,,I'm curious what he has done to the car, because he is at the track. He hasn't done ANY engine mods....None. No,,,,I take that back, he had some kind of a special air filter or something on it.
I look inside the car and there is no back seat. Huh?
Seriously,,,he had taken the back seat and passenger seat out.
Weight reduction????? What else could it be?
I'm curious now, because I want to know what he runs through the quarter. Maybe this car IS something special. I go up to watch him run when his time comes. I swear to you, the car looks like it comes off the line like a Geo Metro. I swear,,,it actually looks like it is in pain as it is running down the track. When he finishes up, he posts an 18.5 through the quarter. Hmmm.
Well,,,a short time later, we are in line to run again, and he has got the hood up on his car. I walk over there and talk to him. He is a little disappointed in his time that he ran. That's like saying you would be a little disappointed if your son was having a sleep over at Michael Jackson's house. Anyhow, I walk over to him and we began to talk.
It's still hotter than hell outside, and he has the hood up on his car making an adjustment on the air breather. He tells me that his time was a little bad because the car wasn't getting enough air. Here he is, with his hood up and working on his car, and sweat is dripping off of him.
I'm thinking to myself, "why in the hell is he working on his car after posting an 18.5 time???" If the air breather was completely clogged up,,,and starving for air, it still wouldn't mean he could get the car down into the 16 second time frames. I'm thinking, "buddy,,,,if you will work on that car, after posting that time, in the blistering heat like this, then you have motor oil in your veins, because I would have packed my *** up and headed back to my air conditioned house."
There are racers and then there are guys who are racers. This guy is the latter. Cracks me up when I think about him taking the seats out of his car.
