k&n drop in hp gains?
I installed the k&n drop in filter today and I was wondering what kind of hp gains i can expect. I know the gain won't be ground breaking but the k&n has got to be better than the stock filter. The reason i'm asking is because it has been raining today and the conditions haven't been right for wot so i haven't been able to see for myself. Thanks
Where did you buy that filter / how much / does it fit into stock air box and what Part# is it? I am thinking about picking one up if you could help.. I have one on my motorcycle and the gas mileage seems to have improved since installation about a month ago.
I currently had the Fram "AirHog" in my car and noticed no diffrence betwee it and the stock filter.
Thanks Man..

doubtful that you would feel any gains. it might be good for 5hp on a dyno in the right conditions...
I stick with K&N not for the power gains, but I watched a friend sink his truck practically and the filter helped save his motor from hydro-locking...

sorry srt_ya but the filter has nothing to do with hydro locking... since your friend got almost to the filter not to the filter or over the filter it doesnt matter. if you put a cai on with k&n filter and sink that filter and boost your going to turn that cai in to a straw... i use k&n so i can clean my filter as i please and every week if i want.
For my sxt adds a little horse power with my srt exhaust but mostly so much better gas mileage . K&N is the way to go to begin with then Im addin a typhoon cca red intake .

dropped a k&n in my stage 2, and noticed a slight difference in hp, but i also removed the filter box, and after that, noticed the turbo spools alot faster and sounds like its almost screaming at me now. i recommend it if you want a cheap addition in horse power. anyway, good luck
Anyone concerned with the skeptical filtration issues as well as the possible damage to sensors (MAF, etc) due to the oil in the filter? I have read some pretty damning info lately, unfortunately after installing K&N air filters on my wife's and my vehicles.
