yeah, dude is right you are running a little too much boost. turning it down to 16psi should be fine. also the stock wastegate can't really handle 17psi. if you still want to run 17psi you should think about getting a new wastegate.

Sorry for my stupidity( Im new here ! bought a 2004 SRT about 2 months ago for 16500 with 9k miles) but how do you adjust your boost on a stock SRT with a stock AGP...do you have a spring mod?
If he upgraded to a stage 1 would this fix his problem?
Please forgive for putting a question inside of a question...thanks

Yes a Staged kit would fix the problem ( not sure if a Stage I would tho) but as far as uping your boost you would need to get a boost controller either a manual or electronic. A manual is fine if would want to kit jumpin' in and out of your car to fine tune the boost under the hood. The electronic tho can do it from inside and will also smooth out your boost curves at different revs.

Stage 1 is good for around 17lbs of boost. But its never good to run too high unless youve got everything to support it. Tune it down to around 15psi, the code will disappear and the car will be much happier.
And its 3 key cycles for a code to appear, and I believe its 3 for it to deplete itself. (Meaning 3 full start-up cycles, not just off-accessory)

stage one is probably good for 17psi, but the stock wastegate is only good for about 16psi. i have stage one and also had a Greddy boost controller and the wastegate could only take 16psi. notice i said i had a Greddy boost controller because somebody stole it.
So, I read through this whole thread and I am getting that 17lbs is too high even for a stage one.
Now, I have a stage one with intake, exhaust, plugs, wires, & BOV. I am looking at getting the Stage 2 WGA and a electronic boost controller, Greddy Profec B Spec II to be exact. I am only going to be able to bump my boost up to 16 lbs without throwing a code. That doesn't even seem worth it the money spent on eveything, what do you think?
