Flares on the SRT-4
My car looks goofy (to me) from the back - tall and skinny. I was thinking some nice flares and a lowering kit might really change the look. Of course the other added benefit would be the ability to add wider tires.
I found a place that sells 'em but they don't show any good pix of the result.
Has anyone done anything like this? If so, can you post your pix as well as discuss the install cost, issues and how you feel now that you've done it?
Here's a pic of the Ventshade flare. They don't show the back ones nor do they show any other angles.

please god no. i've seen pictures of a wide body kit, it was the most rediculous thing i've ever seen.
srt's can take a 245 without it sticking out too much. i use a 225 and it's flush with the body, no problems. the limiting factor with the tires is the suspension, not the body panels.

Hmmm, surprised you wouldn't like the wide body kit. I loved the way it looks on the 930 vs. the standard 911. In fact, I like it on most every application I've seen so long as it's not loaded w/ ground effects. Now THERE'S a look that's gotta go.
Re: the suspension being the limiting factor, I guess I don't understand that one. If you get rims that go no deeper than stock why would it matter how wide they are? It's not like the suspension goes out to the edge of the fender... [sm=dontgetit.gif]

well it's two fold really. too wide a tire will rub on the inside of the wheel well when you turn. this is a problem with some 235's (depending on the rim) and 245's. 225's are usually fine.
the suspension is limiting because the stock strut doesn't allow for a larger rim/tire combo because it's basically in the way. coilover's eliminate this issue and allow for a larger wheel/combo to be used. this is more of a concern when dealing with slicks or drag radials, but it also does come into play when trying to fit a substantially larger wheel on the car. for example, most 8" rims will not fit with stock suspension, however you can get it on there with coilovers. an 8" rim can obviously use a much larger tire than a 6.5 or 7" can.

Make a long story short here.
Dated this girl once.
She was like how you described our cars........tall and skinny from the back
Ultimately, a few months later, after a job at the dairy queen, she got a "wide body kit."
Trust me on this one, nix the kit.

yea her cooking caused me to get a wide body kit and lowering kit and her lazyiness forced her into picking up some lbs in the mid section and seems like her screaming is getting amplified over time
