I just ordered a mopar sts.my ? is does it come with the new booger bushings or do i have to order them seperate.also if it doesn't come with them is it ideal to use them or is it ok to run it without them....thanks in advanced.

 

Ahhhh...I see. Definitely use them - more positive shifts.

BTW - if you didn't know, the second set is under the battery tray on top of the tranny.

 

So does the mopar sts come with them.i ordered it from dodge,if not do you know of any kind place to get them except for on-line.

 

Nope the STS does NOT come with Booger bushings. Other than online your best bet would be a speed shop that can order them for you. I never installed them with mine, and my shifter is good as gold without them. Its an STS with an inch cut off of it and a Viper Hurst STS Shift **** (MUCH heavier than stock and mine will NEVER come off )

 

thanks for the info, i think i am gonna try it without and if i dont like it i can always order them.one more ? every 1 says this shift **** just pops off but i think mine was glued on it doesnt want to budge and i really dont want to break it any suggestions.sorry about all the ?..thanks

 

Sit on the hump in the middle behind the front seats. Put it in 2nd and yank away. You'll have a lot more leverage. Just don't knock your teeth out. (seriously - I know of one who actually chipped his front tooth.)

 

Ha! I had that happen when I raced this dude, with a chick in the car...talk about NOT COOL...

I was at a red light and this dude had been tail gating me for a while and I hate tail-gaters [:@]
So it turns out he had a Dodge 1500 (HA) anyways he revs his engine and I look over at this chick who was riding with me, and she's like "smoke'em" so I'm like "k"

Long story short, light turns green i ease on the gas till 2500 RPM and then Punch it to avoid spinning tires and all...
shift into 2nd and POP off goes the ****...i toss it to her, and slam into third passing the dude and waving, needless to say i had to pop my shifter back on, and it was kinda akward, like hey check this out "BREAK" oops...heh we still won though!

 

Thats why my new shifters on with panel bonding adhesive!! BWA HA HA!!! The ball will break before that bond does. God forbid I ever get sick of my Viper shift **** lmao. Its alot heavier too, makes shifting alot easier than with that plastic creation that comes stock.

 

I would second or third...whatever we're on to the booger bushings. They roxxor. I also popped off the **** that comes with the SRT4 short throw. Hammered first, pulled back for 2nd shifting hard and off came the ball. My friends were riding with me and they thought it was hilarious. I did not because it hurt my hand to shift my car (at least aggressivedly) until I got a new shift ****. I now have a Momo **** (one of the ball ones, can't remember what they're called) on there which hasn't budged and all since I put it on there.
