Wheel hop....
Oh the humanity..........I did my first burnout in first geer over the weekend. I heard that wheel hop was a problem but I didn't realize it was that bad. I thought the trans and clutch were history. It hopped and shook like it was a 9.5 earthquake. I wanted to get out and give my car a hug and an apology. I read that the booger bushings fix this. Anyone know anything about how to make the demons stop terrorizing me? It was sooo bad, I'm cringing right now just thinking about it. I never want to hear that sound again, it was aweful.

The booger bushings are for the shift linkage, they won't do anything for wheel hop. What you need for wheel hop are motor mount inserts and/or higher durometer motor mounts. If you have the down time you can help it and get off cheap by filling the empty spaces in the motor mounts rubber with black silicone.[sm=smiley2.gif]
Are you doing burnouts to race at a strip? If so, lower the tire pressure to 23-24 psi...
No, I was just driving around and figured I had enough miles on it try it. I just passed 2k miles and figured I would see what she would do if I got into it in first gear. Needless to say, I won't be doing it again.

And to think, the stock computer does not allow full boost in 1st gear, so imagine what it would be like if it did. If you get any of the Stage upgrades it will allow full boost in 1st.[sm=smiley2.gif]

I filled in the motor mounts on my '88 Shelby Z and it was fine and I had the Rex inserts on my '99 R/T and it was just fine as well. The R/T still had wheel hop issues though, but my Shelby Z never had any wheel hop before or after I filled them in. Quite a few people are recommending the inserts on the top motor mount on the SRT-4's to eliminate the wheel hop without causing alot of vibration.
