Part Specifications
Hey all, another quick question or two:
What brand/type/style/etc. do you recommend for aftermarket parts including, but not limited to:
- Blow-off valve
- Short-throw shifter
- Waste gate
- or other "cheap" mods (around $200 or less)
There are a lot of parts out there and I want to consider some "cheaper" mods that are easy to install and will still make my car streetable (this is my daily driver!). Any advice would be great!

BOV = Forge, sold by neonparts.net
STS = Mopar (get the booger bushing to tighten up the feel a little)
WGA = I would go Stage 1 (used for maybe 200 if you can find one, new about 320-340) Yeah, it costs more, but it's plug and play, not install, fiddle, adjust, plug this line, unplug that one, cap this one, tee into that one.
Mopar exhaust for 320-340
I know you said $200 and under, but honestly, if you are daily driving, just keep it simple. Nice thing is that unlike a WGA or an exhaust dump ( the only cheap ways to make power, really) you can pull right into a dealer service bay with out sweating them freaking out. Depending on your dealer of course, but it's way more likely.

Right you are. One of the service techs told me that they don't even blink at a Stage 1 upgrade because so many people have 'em and they don't overstress the engine or turbo...(as he was munching on one of the breakfast tacos I bought to the Service Department to "speed up" my service work/oil change)...[sm=smiley36.gif]
Mopar parts cost more, but you know that you are getting good quality, and the service guys will be less likely to question warranty issues if it is mopar parts. If mopar makes the part you are looking for, go with it.
After I brought my car home from Florida, I stopped by my local dealer. Since at that time, it was one of maybe 2 in the state of MD, and the ONLY one that had been seen down my neck of the woods, it caused a stir. While the sales guys were going over it, I went by the service dept. I introduced myself, and porcedded to explain that I had an SRT-4 and planned on upgrading it using Mopar stuff.
They didn't know anything about the kits at that time, but the manager told me," As long as it says Mopar on the part, we will not have a problem, we view that as any other Dodge part" And when I did have a problem, they were good as their word. The only part I will be doing that's not Mopar is the Forge BOV.

You found a "sweet dealer"...according to the Mopar website, Mopar "performance parts" are not warranted...but any dealer worth his/her salt is going to honor the warranty on the car/truck unless it's an obvious case where the performance part caused the failure...

Oh, don't mistake me, they won't warranty the Mopar performance parts. But they won't blame the Mopar parts like they would an aftermarket piece.

Mopar Performance does have the cheapest BOV though. How is the Forge BOV, I've never heard of it? And how much is it? I love my Mopar BOV, works great and sounds great. I know there are louder ones out there, but I'm happy with mine. I've also read of a few people that had gasket/sealing issues with theirs, thats why I used a gasket dressing that eliminated any chance of that.[sm=smiley20.gif]
Oh, but you have heard of it
The only one to post on the thread about it, as a matter of fact
Honestly, I don't think it's any louder, just better sounding. Of course, sound is a very subjective thing. I don't know if you looked at the stocker when you had it off, but I was not too happy about the surface roughness where the center rubber/cone/spring piece of the stocker meets the metal. That's the only thing about it that makes me THINK there MIGHT be something valid about the leaking at higher pressures thing. I can't say for sure, both cars I put them on are bone stock 04s.

That's why I played it safe and used Permatexs' Hylomar Gasket Dressing And Flange Sealant. I heard of a few people having leakage problems, so I went to Auto Zone and looked at all the different products they had that might solve the problem and it looks as though I did. All the boost it had before with all the blow off I wanted now.[sm=smiley4.gif][sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
