It sounds like a grounding out short to me. I had a friend in his car he always had his brake lights on, but it was a short. That is what it sounds like to me..

Top off your brake fluid with DOT 3 or DOT 4 by Mopar. Your brake fluid is a bit low, so the ebrake light will light up when you really romp on the gas. Very common problem. No need to worry.

Have you made sure the brake switch wiring isn't ran directly behind your clutch pedal? A lot of people have had issues with it being damaged because for some reason DCX ran the wires straight behind the clutch pedal. I think they ran them in a different location on some of the newer '05's so I've been told. If it is behind the clutch and getting pinched when you press in your clutch, just find the white brake switch box and turn it about a 1/4 turn to the left until it comes out of the bracket and relocate and zip-tie the harness over the clutch pedal and re-insert it into the bracket the opposite way you removed it. I also noticed on my '04 that the clutch engages a little better because the wires aren't in the way and the pedal goes farther towards the floorboard. Just something to look at.

By the way... do you mean your BRAKE LIGHT in your dash, or your actual Brake Light on your trunk lid??? That would be helpful to know. If it's the actual brake light... then the above will probably be the problem... if it's the dash brake light... probably the fluid.

he's talking about the ebrake light on the dash. this is such a common problem it should be in the owners manual. i think i answer this question at least three times a day.
