Hello Fellow SRT4 Members
16's? What the heck is everyone talking about? I must have missed something somewhere. You talking about boost pressure? If so, my stocker spikes 15 to 18 and maintains 13 to 14 and my boost gauge is zeroed at rest. Engine is 100% untouched. Why would 16 be too much? I must be way out to lunch.
Wow.. if this is a bad setup with the stock turbo i cant wait to see the big turbo setup :-O... My legs were shaking, when dominicansrt took off!!!!! The cams MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE from high 3rd till end of 5th... He used to run his car at 24psi, (spike 27) and now we took off those modifications and put it back to stock boost... and he does exactly what overboosting does... Power is definetly there. Cant wait till he gets the setup done right! idle is a bit rough, waiting on the cam gears so he can adjust all the bits and pieces of it. None the less, the cams are great! He ran a 1993 SE-R 2.0 (NEO VVL) on high boost with out cams (11psi on SE-R) and the SE-R would fly right by him at end of 2nd... and jump for a good ... 5 busses. Now with the cams @ a roll they last together till end of 4th. You must remember the SRT is running low boost.... I cant wait till he stops second handing things and does it right... gets the big turbo and fuel system
..... CRANE CAMS ... I LOVE YOU :P
..... CRANE CAMS ... I LOVE YOU :P
Honestly speaking; I am still learning from the SRT. But my honest opinion is that 12's are more for a nitrous type of application. You may want to consult with Crane Cams directly. They can give you the best answers.. some members here have alot of knowledge on that basis also so you may be able to get that answer here. I would go with 14's for street-strip. As it is the 16's really dont harm the low end power the SRT has but the true power of those cams are not for 1/4mile runs.... those cams are awesome on the highway... then again remember we are on stock turbo, and pistons. End of 3rd going to 4th is like having someone constantly push you deeper on the seat. IMO 14's are ideal for street/strip. But ask around, or call Crane...dont base your information out of my opinion, only the experiences we've had
