Boost problems!!!
Ok so i decided to go out for a christmas cruise...I found a nice open back road that had no traffic on it so decided since i just did all my mods i would see if the car really felt any different....When i first got my car(bone stock) i was getting about 6psi in 1st gear,11 psi in 2nd,12-13 psi in 3rd,13 psi strong in fourth and fifth.....So i nail it in first, i get 5 psi, second 8 psi, 3rd 10 psi, 4th about 12 pounds....So i do mods to get less boost...My ? is would any of my mods listed below rob boost from me or do you think i might have a boost leak???OCC is tight,Intake capped off on both plugs...The only other thing not listed is i got some winter wheels and tires(15 in. pt cruiser steelies and some snows)..Any inputs please....The temp is about 65 deg. ferenheit.
Probably a boost leak. You ever do a leak test? Mine was leaking badly with less than 3000 miles on the car. Only boosting 10 in all gears. I first thought it was the weather but then went over the clamps and now I boost 10 in first, 10-11 in second 12-14 in the rest.
I've read a lot of people saying it'll also lower with colder weather, but I haven't noticed much change between high 30s and high 60s. Only had my car since November so I haven't had much warm weather driving yet so I'm interested to see if it gets higher this spring and summer.

So i checked all the clamps(except the one in the back)and there all tight...This leads me to my next ?They say in the manual if you run anything other than 91 octane you wont get max performance of the vehicle...That being said does anyone know about winterblend fuel??I know that winterblend fuel can hurt your mpg,But my ? is can it also rob you of boost?I still fill up w/91 usually conoco or shell....Thanx for any input
So i think i finally figured it out,I pulled into the garage last night and was letting the car cool down,While it was running i decided to look over all my clamps again...Once again all of them are tight, so im standing there stairing at the motor hoping something was just gonna jump out at me(yeah right huh)...After about 5 mins i finally just got irritated and shut the car down, but when i shut it off i heard a loud pop sound, what the f*ck was that so know im thinking my car is broke,So im panicing to get the hood back open, finally get it open once again nothings broke or visibly wrong so i decided to start the car w/ the hood open.Once again POP so after about ten mins. finally realized it wasn't coming from the motor,so where is it coming from???The damn boost gauge for some reason when i shut the car down the needle acts like it wants to zero out but once it hits 10 vac it pops and the needle stops dead in its tracks!!!When i start it the needle drops all the way down to 25 on the vac..........warranty to the rescue!!!!
Do a boost leak test. You have the Mopar "Leak Plate" BOV which is a common leak. Also the clamp under my turbo was loose. It is a bitch, but I would bet you have a leak somewhere. Put oil resistant teflon tape on that OCC and remove the O-ring.
from day 1 my boost gauge was at vac 10, i took it in and the dealer said that they often come from the factory like this. they fixed it no ? asked. my dealer has been a great place to take my car there awesome people to deal with. for all of those dealing with poor dealers try norm reeves maybe there is a trend in costomer service. mines great.

Your OCC should be cool, there is already teflon tape on it the only thing i forgot was the O-ring next time you drain the can reach your finger into where it came out of and you should feel the ring just pull it out.....
