remote starter and turbo timer??
ORIGINAL: Gump
if you leave your car in gear and remote start it the car will NOT drive away.... it will however jump forward about 3-5' and stall out, your remote start will then start the car again and it will jump and stall again. most remote starts try 3 to 5 times if the car dies.

That must be fkn hilarious to watch though. A car just starting up and running the hell away. Id DIE laughing if it was done in a safe enough area, and done on purpose.
Yes now I know someone with it. I didnt before, but I do now.

This had me laughing pretty good but there's no way in hell I'll have one put on my car unless I can make it 100% fool proof.
#1) this would be more for my wife since she drives it everyday and she's the typical woman who just wants to get in the car and drive. She's usually multi-tasking and does not want to have to think about a "start sequence".
aaand #2) the car is never parked where it could just go 3-5 feet, much less 20, and not hit something.
Doesn't sound like I'll be putting one on.

i'm been looking into putting on a magnet safety switch, i just have to figure out how to wire it in. some of the remote starters come with them, but mine did not as it was not designed for a manual car. the ones out there that are meant to be put on a manual have the safety things built into them so it's not a problem.
