I live in Dunkirk in CC. I don't know whether or not I would be running under 14 so I would probably need a helmet. But yeah I have seen the yellow with the side stickers on it. If you find out times in which those people are going to be running their SRT's then post that and we can get together and run sometime this summer.

Just to mention...the dodge dealership I went to, today to buy my SRT-4, is giving me free installation of any mopar upgrades, such as a stage 2 turbo kit. All I have to pay for is the kit =). Not sure if any other dealers do this, but I found a cool one with some interesting technicians, even a guy involved in the design of the SRT-4's mechanics =D.

kid,

Please be careful, dealers lie like dogs to make a sale. Considering most dealers are wanting $700 and up for a full Stage 2 with toys install, it sounds like smoke, unless they are going to jack the price of the kit (which costs them 1275) retail of which is 1599. Most online dealers for the kits charge 1300-1400.
All prices U.S. your dollars WILL vary

As far as the tech having anything to do with the SRT design, send his name in a PM, both Rezin and I have ways to check that.

Please don't think I'm trying to get on you, but lying dealers must be slapped down.

Badsrt, the switch does the following, taken from the mopar.com website.

"PCM will increase spark advance and adjust fueling to take full advantage of the 100 octane unleaded fuel. The red indicator lamp will illuminate when High Octane Mode is active.

During High Octane Mode operation, the PCM prevents damaging detonation via the OEM knock detection system. High Octane Mode will be bypassed if damaging knock is detected. The red indicator lamp will blink when High Octane Mode is bypassed. Spark advance and fueling are returned to standard levels in bypass mode."

And, yes, the only damage done by using 100 octane on the street will be to your wallet!!!! At 4.50 or so a gallon for it.

GLH,

just out of curiosity, how do you have "ways to check out" if he works/worked at Dodge? The reason for this is, well... I am looking to switch careers and if you happen to have connections at Dodge, boy... I would owe you big...!!!! Anyway, if you have any info you can share on this or such, please email me or private message me or whatever...

thanks!

I can't find out if he works at Dodge, I can find out if he has anything to do with the SRT design. He is stated to be a dealer service tech. My contacts don't reach far enough to see individual employees like that. But I can get in touch with folks who know folks who are on the SRT team. I know that sounds vaugue. but like a reporter, if I don't keep them anonymous, they don't say anything. Keep in mind, SRT is not a huge team. If they were corroborating with a dealer tech in Ontario, someone would remember it.

It's possible the SRT guys DID ask some service techs for input, or he was high school buddies with one of the team, who did consult with him. In either case, the team would say so. As far as employment, nope, my contacts are not like that

They aren't charging me any extra, for stage 1 it's costing me 350$, since I only need a bit mroe of it, half of stage 1 is already in my SRT-4, as I was told recently haha. Stage 2 + turbo toys they're gonna charge me 1700$ canadian. that's under 1500$ us. I know they're not ripping me off because I checked the prices on the mopar site first haha. One of the guys at the dealers happend to be german, and my parents happend to know him, so I got an outrageous deal on the car in almost everyway. It's also the first SRT-4 they've sold at that location. Canadians aren't really into cars...they were rather excited. Trust me, one thing I'm good with is sales, even if I'm no pro about cars haha. I was rather surprised with this dealership though, they were all quite honest. I did a lot of research before I went in there and everything they said was coinciding with what I'd researched. It may have just been because my parents were friends with them though. They may not be so straightforward with others haha.

Without the (toy) switch, there doesn't appear to be any reason to run 100 octane...you're wasting money...
