Mopar STS installed
Ok, first to the maddog sts people... I know I know... I read up on the subject and the maddog seems like a great item. But I decided on the Mopar.
Bought on wednesday on ebay, got it today! At first I thought I'd hold up on the install untill a clear day and untill the booger bushings I also bought get here, but what fun is that.
It didn't come with any instructions, so I had to look on SRTforums, but actually it could easily be done with no instruction. Install is a breeze!
It's raining pretty damn good, and it was already dark but I HAD to take it out and check it out as good as I could in the conditions... I'm loving it! It feels great, I really had no idea what to expect as this really is the only manual car I've ever drove. It really feels like the amount of time it takes to shift is cut in half. It has a much more sporty feel and I can't wait to run it when it's dry out so I can really get on it. Feels great just slamming it forward 2-3 and even 4-5.
And one other thing I was happy about is the shift ****! Popped right on to the new shifter and is on there good! I've read so much bad about our shift ***** and even experienced it in my first test drive of one when I took off from a light and the thing flew off. Maybe I got lucky and got a good one!

The mopar is something like a 28% throw reduction. I have about an inch and a half cut off of my Mopar just to be able to install the aftermarket Viper STS ****.
Maddog does make 50% throw reductions, but Im sticking with mopar everything, except my beast of a 3" custom exhaust. LOL

I can't even imagine there being 20%+ more reduction over the Mopar, would actually be pretty cool but I think I'm sticking with the Mopar for now atleast. Now that I got to run it hard some today I'm loving the hell out of it. Of course my booger bushings also got here today so I tore off the center console again real quick and threw those ones in, I'll put the other two in when I put on my intake. I didn't really see how they'd make any difference in anything but they really do! I'm a believer now. It feels so nice slamming the gears, it goes in so fast and smooth. Can't wait to run on the gtech to see if I can get some nice times going.
I'm looking at installing a sts, but i hadn't heard of any for the srt4.
couple of questions
where can i get info on maddog sts. What exactly are the bushings for you were talking about?
