2.5" or 3" exhaust?
There is no performance difference between the two until you reach around 350 horsepower, then the 3" is the one you want. Naturally the 3" will be louder than the 2.5" exhaust. Unless you shooting for 350 horsepower or more, I would and am going with the 2.5" Mopar/Borla exhaust, but if you are going for that much horsepower or more then definately get the 3".
I agree, unless you're going to make some serious, major mods well beyond Stage 2, the Mopar/Borla cat back system is the way to go. It's well made and a lot less money than the others.....[sm=smiley4.gif]
Not a problem, and enjoy the new sound and performance.[sm=smiley20.gif]

What on earth are you telling this guy? 3 inches is better at any hp and will help the car get to that 350hp. I know that my GTS isn't making 350 quite yet - may never because of the 8 valve head - but turbo lag is reduced the bigger you can go. Turbos would like it best if you just ran a downpipe. This same question has been discussed many times at turbododge.com and the answer from all the knowledgable guys is to not screw around and go right to 3".
Not always....The 3 inch pipes cost me 18whp on the top end compared to the borla/mopar 2.5's.....The big 3 made me 8whp over the borla/mopar 2.5 from 2000 to 3200 rpms.....And this was with the cat and 3 inch down pipe...it likes the bottle neck.
Thanks, Andy. And from the "business end" of it, wouldn't it make more sense for DCX to make the Mopar/Borla in a 3 if it actually performed better? Wouldn't they want to sell more product/move more inventory rather than offering an inferior 2.5??? This isn't rocket science, just plain old American Capitalism. Give the people what they want and need and they will buy it. Besides, there's a ton of difference between a '89 LeBaron GTS and a 2004 SRT-4, not to mention a decade and a half of engineering advancements....
