SRT-4 shifting.
I'm not the most experienced driver, so I'd wanna ask some of you experts to gimme a few shifting tips for my SRT-4. Like what RPM's to shift at etc..Any advice would be welcome, I want to maximize my performance with this car so I can reallly use it. My friend just got an Eclipse GT and wants to race me. I've got 6 weeks to perfect my shifting haha. (although I'm pretty confident my SRT-4 will beat that eclipse..I just relaized that I already got a stage 1 turbo kit with my SRT-4, it was in the car already, I did not think it came iwth a stage 1 kit hah.) So anyway, please do advise my dear experts! =)
If you bought a brand new '04 then it only has half of Stage 1 already in it, the larger fuel injectors. You can still purchase Stage 1, but instead of getting a new PCM(computer) and injectors, like with the '03's Stage 1, you will just be getting the PCM because it already has the injectors. The owners manual give you a recommended set of shift points for maximum performance driving.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
just remember that maximum HP (horsepower, or in Canada is it kW
is produced around 5200-5300 RPM... that should be your shift point, not red line like a lot of people shift... your relation between HP and RPM is similar to sinusoidal (sp) or parabolic curve (aka - it goes up, then drops back down /\ )...

ahh even more superb advice. I'm beginning to like this forum a lot haha. Just you wait, give me 2months here and I'll even know what someone means when they say "My car's putting out 21psi" =P.
