Woosh, http://www.gtechpro.com

Word, I'm very anxious to get to the track now. It's said that every .1 you cut in the 60ft you cut up to .2 in the 1/4 mile, so technically I believe I could definetly run a 13.5-13.7 as it is right now on the track. Hell, that's been done in a few cars with no engine mods when they hit the 60fts. 2.3s are pretty horrible... I hit 2.3s in my Ram 4.7L with 3.55 gears, open rear end and 22" rims I'd like to hit a 2.0 on the track but I could see a 2.1 happening. I've really got the hang of how to launch the car now, but it'll be interesting to see how I can do it on the track. The last few days it hasn't been shifting as smooth as usual especially if I try to shift fast. That was with the cutout open BTW

What was your 60ft when you ran the 14.1? I think you posted it before but I don't remember what it was.

And speaking of the stage 2, I got an email saying it shipped today. So I'll have it mid-late next week! I would really like to get to a track before putting it on but I'm not so sure I could hold out that long.

Don't remember what my 60' times were, Andy. I think that my trap speed was like 99.4. I have, in total, made about 7 runs down a track and I have never cut a 2.1 60, so it was more along a 2.27 or something like that. My best time was 14.18 and the other runs were a little slower than that. Funny story, this was back in the summer, and I had never been to the track before, and I didn't realize until after I run that I had my air conditioner on. I also never turned my car off between runs and didn't know to let it cool down back then.

I'm hoping, when I go back to the track again, sometime in the spring, that I can hit the 13's. I will, HOPEFULLY, have the downpipe by then. I wish, before I do any performance mod's, that I could get another run in with my car like it is, because I would love to make a run or two with the air pressure down on my tires. And once I did that, I could then make some runs with each mod that I do, and kind of give out the data like you are doing.

Have you ever been to the track before, because if you haven't, it is a pretty intimadating experience for the first time. When I first did it late last summer, I was nervous as hell, because it was some kind of open class night and the stands were just full of people. I was afraid that I would kill the motor on the starting line.

Since you are launching your car so well, then I don't see you having any problems putting down a good 60' time. I would love for you to have 1/4 mile times before the Stage 2 install and after. That would be very good to know, because from what I can tell, you are a pretty consistent driver based on your G-tech times. Man,,,it would be as impressive as hell if you could run a 13.5 1/4 mile with just the downpipe as a mod. Get there while you still have some tread on your tires....LOL.

I used to go to the track a lot, to watch and race. It's been a couple years now though, and my truck was an auto so there wasn't much to it. I know what you mean though... I know I've been there and laughed at some poor guy who stalls his car off the line or made some retarded mistake and have the whole crowd laugh lol... But I would hate if it was me. I'm really considering about getting to the track saturday, they do test and tune and it's usually a lot less crowded than the wednesday night drags which is usually jam packed with people. It's $50 vs $15 though so I don't know.

Hey Andy, first off, nice vid. It's funny. Seems like you and i are doing the same mods at the same time. I just put my needswings dp on about 2 weeks ago.(still waiting for the elec. cutout) I got to start the car but waiting for spring to run it. I'm gonna order Stage 2 next month so come spring time i'll be real excited to get to the track to see how much good the mods do. My best run last year was 13.77 @102.37 mph. That was with Mopar Catback. I was just looking at the Gtech website. I think i'm going to try to invest in one. Probably the cheaper SS. I'm confused on how this works. Do you have to put in vehicle weight before hand to get measurements, and how do you like it? If anyone else has a Gtech, you are more than welcome to reply. Thanks

You only need vehicle weight if you want it to give HP and Torque measurements. I don't really care for that feature so I never have. You need EXACT weight if you want any kind of accurate numbers for that.

I think it's a great little tool for testing things. I've never had a chance to run it on the track to see how it matches up with the tracks timeslips, but if nothing else it's consistant and reasonable.

Maybe look on ebay for the COMP model or used RRs... The COMP is updatable online and you can update it with the RR firmware. I think they're better than the SS because you can connect it to your computer and use the Pass software which lets you compare runs side by side in graphs like the one I posted, not needed but a nice feature.

The more power you have the the more traction problems you have and I believe it gets less and less helpfull... The street usually isn't the best place for traction so if you're spinning a lot you'll probably be less consistant, which makes it harder to gauge real changes. I've actually been thinking about selling mine for that reason. I have two tracks just a short drive away so when they're open it's not a big deal. Plus I'm the type of person that feels "bad" after going out and doing a bunch of 1/4 mile runs, like I'm beating on my car. Not to mention it starts getting more risky when your car hits 100+ per run. I got real lucky the last time I was out doing it.
