BOV
The Mopar BOV sounds fine, combine it with the Mopar/Borla exhaust and the Stage 1 and you will have yourself a sweet sounding and fast a** machine for less than $800.......

It shounds nothing like the hks ssq. so if thats the sound your going for then dont waste the time.
i got the mopar a few weeks after i got the car and had no problems with it but upgraded to the type rs. a lot of people have boost leaks from the mopar because they dont install it correctly. ive heard so many say "ive installed it right" but we still find a leak there.
if you do get it make sure you get a good sealant and seal it up good and its hard to keep the sealant in place as you install it but it will be problem free if installed with a good sealant.

Like I said, the Mopar BOV is fine. Plus, you'll have fewer warranty issues. Use some Permatex sealer on it, and you should be good to go.....

I just installed my Mopar BOV today and didn't use anything but the supplied gasket. Are you saying that I need to take it off and add some sealant? How will I know if there is a boost leak?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm new to turbos

No you dont need to take it off and apply permatex hylomar HPF sealant on it, its kind of an extra thing alot of us put on to assure that there would be no leaks. But if its installed properly, there will be no leaks.
I dont like the sound of the HKS, too high pitched and dead-birdish (to quote PSIChick) for me.

I have the mopar blue plate special as well, with no sealant. It's been on there for over a year and has never been the source of a leak. I would recomend that you leave it be, as torqueing repeatedly can be a source of leaks for sure. Do a boost leak test if you are concerned about it.
Proper torque specs is the key to having it installed right. If you overtorque you could deform the metal causing a leak, if you dont tighten it enough there can be leaks. I personally don't like the permatex hylomar solution because if you ever take it off you will have a difficult mess to scrape off, and it is unnecessary if the install is good. A good measure of the blue plates' flexability and performance is the mopar extreme lightweight car. It is stage 3 and runs in the 11's. The car has the mopar bov and holds 24 psi all day long.
I love the sound(best way to describe it is that it sounds like a big rigs airbrakes) and prefer it to the high pitched whistle type sound.
There is no replacement for proper installation.
