Met another person in my area that was flying down the road way over the speed limit, had to catch up...that was fun. But anyways I was talking to her and she said her dealership told her to put 87 octane in the SRT-4. I was in shock that someone would tell her this. So I proceeded to tell her why she shouldn't (detonation…etc.) and see had this look of confusion. She then told me she's going to stick with what the dealership told her. Why would they tell her this? Another reason why I didn’t buy my car from them.

 

OMG!!! It says on the gauges that it only uses premium!!! I feel terrible for the car. Please find her and try to set her straight.

It not only says it on the gauges, it says it in the owner's manual as well plus there's a sticker on the inside of the gas cap door!!! Can't she read???

I know of a few dealers that said this, but it was the sales department thats usually giving out all this grand information. Does she NOT know what PREMIUM gas is??

Last I checked regular and premium were two totally different things. And she was BOOSTING on that octane? Oh good lord in heaven say later to that SRT

 

Well...she was letting her boyfriend drive and she could drive better than him...I followed them to one of their friends houses and they were on it constently.

 

If they just picked up their car in the last few months when the weather is cooler, maybe the knock sensor is doing a good job. But there will be no helping them when it warms up. Anyone want guess what will blow first? Pisons or valves? Maybe they will shape up after they get beat / wasted by a few more SRT-4 with the same set up. They need to be reported to the 'Car Care Police' and have their keys revoked.

 

When I first test drove the srt4 the gas gauge was passed empty, light on and everything lol, well i dont take the cars out when they are that low, im not doing anything to a car i dont own lol. Anyways the Car Salesman i was dealing with and the dealership, they take there cars down the road for gas. well he came back after filling the tank up with regular. Well i started to drive it off the lot and its jumping around, in third gear passed 3500 rpms it was buck lol. I asked him what he did to it and he had this cofused look on his face, he said he was told they can put regular in it lol i laughed, showed him the words on the gauge lol. His jaw dropped. needless to say i got my srt4 from another dealership lol
