That's funny you mentioned him- I was actually thinking about him the other day when I was looking at my catch can. If it was ok to do that, don't you think they would have just run a hose from the pcv valve to the oil pan? Guess he never wondered why it ran to the intake instead.

Well, when you guys empty your oil I'd appreciate the input on it's condition.

Thx

Barney,

I've emptied my catch can about twice now... each time the fluid has been about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch up from the bottom of the plastic container. I have driven my car normal and I have beat the crap out of it... both times the oil has had the familiar smell of oil, and was darker than "normal" oil... as for a greenish tint... well... I am what optometrist would classify as "color blind" so it looks brown to me, but I could see where a greenish hue could come about... it is however, very "runny" and not thick... this could be due to it being synthetic (been awhile since I played with synthetic oil)... but I know it is dark and not thick at all...

My catch "can" is about 1/3 full after 3 weeks of "normal" driving and the oil inside is a dark brown color. It looks to be about the same "thickness" as the new oil was and I couldn't see any green tint at all.....as for the smell, I'll let it fill up a bit more before I empty it....[&:]
