Well Gump it took me two to three hours to do it all. All i used was a dremel to open up the insert, as you can tell in the pic its just a shell now as you can see all the way into it. As for the rest i wouldn't recommend it to anyone who does not have the right tools, as cutting the hood takes a very steady hand to keep from f$$$ing it all up. I have seen pics of cars with a lot more metal cut out. All the NAY sayers can say what they want, it sounded meaner than any name bran CAI. Period. But it couldn't flow the numbers i needed, so K&N and as of last month AEM took over the task...if you want a modded air box and K&N stock type filter let me know, its taking up space......
Finally doing away with the air box, thats good. The K&N CAI may only be 2.5", but it is larger and far smoother than stock, plus it is lighter and looks way nicer and cleaner. The AEM is the same way, but 1/2" larger.
