Default Disapointing dealership

I bought my mopar bov yesterday and i went to the service department to see how long it would take them to do it and how much it would cost... cause if it was cheep and fast id just have them do it. but i was talking to the manager and i asked him how long/how much... and he was like "a what?... blow of valve whats that?"
i was like are u kidding me?
"well i havent worked for dodge for to long, so i dont know what that is."
*blank look on my face
"well if u come back monday someone might be here that can help u out a bit more"
*still blank as i walk away and go home and do it myself.

Well after that it looks like ill be doin all my own maintance and mods.... still amazed at the stupidity after 2 days.

I had a similar situation. I ordered the BOV and asked the service manager about how much to have it installed and he opened it up and read over the directions, then he calls me back giving me a rough guess on it and tells me that they have never done one so they don't know how long it will take or anything. When I first asked about it though, he was completely clueless and had no idea what I was talking about.[sm=smiley5.gif][sm=smiley24.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]

Sounds like the same guy that kept telling me my oil change would take longer than average beacuse my SRT-4 had a "Viper Engine" in it. So far, my salesman has been the most knowledgeable person I've delt with there. Too bad he doesn't work on cars!!![&:]

Now that is truely sad to hear. Thankfully my dealer isn't quite that bad, their just not familiar with the SRT-4's and the turbos that aren't diesel since it has been 7 years since the last Mopar turbo car.

I'm going to call around to the local Dodge dealers and see if they have any mechanics that are REALLY familiar with the SRT-4....if they do, I'll take it to them.

I seem to be lucky with my dealer. There are like three technicians that know the SRT-4 inside out, everything they say tends to coincide with what you guys have been saying. They too suggested the oil catch can and the MSD spark plug wires. They're nicely knowledgable. I find it helpful

Well it's good to know that at least some get lucky with their dealerships mechanics.[sm=smiley20.gif] Good thing for me that I don't mind, and actually enjoy, doing the work myself. I was just worried about the warranty until I read their own words about it and found out that I'm good to go doing it myself.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Yeah, DCX needs to "reword" their warranty to make it more easy to understand. You can tell it was written by a lawyer.....[:'(]
