Default Dealership maintence Poll:

How many people get there srt serviced or mainted through their dodge dealer?

I ask this because I may decided not buy extended warranty because a couple shops here make kits for the srt that give around 400hp. I have some close friends who know people who work for Kinitec motorsports here in vancouver. If i go through them then my problems would be directed towards a shop that who actually knows what they are talking about. Even though i would loose warranty im not to worried about it, i have read the success stories and i know the engine is strong and the car is made pretty solid so i feel comfortable holding my own with a shop like Kinitec motorsports.

Any opionons?

thanks

Jordan

Not me. Of couse I am a certified mechanic. I will only take it there for warranty issues, of which I've had none so far. Knock on wood.

I purchased the extended warranty because of my experience with our turbo Laser that we had back in '84. It went thru 3 head gaskets and computer work while owning it. Our SRT-4 has been in 3 times already for warranty work. 2 of them were for fuel injectors. I'm only telling you this because we plan to keep the SRT-4 stock and the extended warranty provides peace of mind for my wife. If you plan on modding your SRT-4, don't waste your money on extended warranty as that money will buy a bunch of goodies.

I'm with PSI on that. Every time I take my car in, they try and tell me something isn't under waranty. I only take my car to the dealership for oil changes because it came with my car for the first 3 years, other than that I stear clear.

My dealer is cool, but I talked to lots of people before deciding to buy from them. Anybody can sell you a car, the service afterwards is what matters. My mods have never gotten any attention, even though I've had it in for two warranty issues......

haha thanks for adding that poll psichick. Well its good to know that people around here are good on their own. I would really like to keep the warranty but i didnt buy this car to keep it stock one bit. But i do plan on keeping it for a long time. I will make my decision probally when my 60,000km warrantly runs out.

I won't go for the free oil changes (a free one every 6k miles), or tune ups. But if I need a tranny under warranty, I get a free loaner car. So its not all bad. But I shouldn't have any issues. My brother in-law is the head tech at a local Dodge dealer.
