24 SPIKE!!!!
I'm very afraid. I installed the stage 2 WG actuator (on stage 1 ecm) and the thing ripped! Lokked at my boost guage and it was spking 24 holding 17. What's the deal? I just adjusted it and still same thing. I have 2 1/2 threads showing give or take a 1/2 and there's not much more to go. You would've thought that adjusting it would have made a difference. Have to let her cool down, then try again I guess. Anyone run into similiar problems. Please help! I don't wanna blow my motor, she's only got 2600 miles. My mods are---AEM CAI, Mopar exhaust, Stage 1, Mopar BOV, Stage 2 WG actuator, and that's it as far as power mods go. HELP!!!
Someone else can chime in here, but I think that the ECU (what the hell does that stand for, anyhow) has to learn that the new wastegate is on the car. I think I read where you have to drive around some and give the ECU time to see what's going on and make the proper adjustments. I have also heard that they spike terribly bad when they are first added.
So even though I'm spiking 24-25? I swear on my last run (adjusting for the fifth time and still no change, I think I'm gonna go the opposite way and leave like 6 threads showing to see what that does....) I heard a knock at like 25psi when it spiked and lost power, then flew back to 17-18. Man I don't wanna blow my motor..........
Do you have the stock boost gauge? If so thats impossible. It only goes up to 20. Adjust the preload.
Take it for a ride, as soon as it goes past 17, STOP. Do this a few times, then reset your PCM. Adjust the preload on it to make it to 0 pre-load then you should be set.
