Ordered Mopar BOV & other goodies

RE: Ordered Mopar BOV & other goodies
I ordered my BOV today too. My wife felt guilty for not buying me anything for our anniversary (today, by the way). She told me to go ahead and order the thing that will make my car hiss (her words, not mine). Then later in the day, on our way home from Home Depot, we saw another SRT-4 going the other way with the BOV. He let off and it made the BOV noise loud enough that Mrs. Danny was questioning whether it was a good idea to let me have one. It was a funny scene (guess you had to be there). Anyway, the guy at Modern Performance said it should be here in a couple of days, Monday at the latest, (I think he forgot that Monday was Memorial day). I can't wait 'til it gets here. My wife said I looked like a kid in a candy store while I was on the phone ordering the part. Now if I can just get her to agree to the exhaust and stage 2.

Looks like modern performance is making a killing off us. I just ordered my Mopar BOV this morning as well. They said it would probably be here Friday, although Tuesday at the latest (he must have taken into account memorial day ^_^) woo. I'm hoping for Friday *crosses fingers*

RE: Ordered Mopar BOV & other goodies
I'm getting my 2nd oil change on Tuesday (boy, the last six months flown by fast!!! Is the SRT-4 being so fast and Einstein's Theory of Relativity coming into play???? No, wait, the faster you go, the more time slows down.....never mind.....)[sm=smiley36.gif]
Talked to the service manager at the dealer and he has one mechanic who is a SRT-4 "specialist"....he gave me his name and assured me the guy knows what he's doing. I told him I'd be back in a flash if I found out he didn't. So, the BOV will be in place by noon, Tuesday. Between the Mopar/Borla exhaust and the BOV, if ricers don't see me coming, they'll certainly hear me....[sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]

RE: Ordered Mopar BOV & other goodies
done and done... here's how it goes...
side marker lights... 10 minutes... passenger side, pull the bulb through the hole, put in "housing", then insert whole unit into bumper... driver side was easy-peasy... also, I jacked the car up a few inches to allow for more room if anyone else has questions on the lights, just ask... I need to get some pics too...
as for the BOV... if you are not mechanical inclined (or patient), pay to have it done... and if you don't buy one of those self-racheting 10mm jobbies that RoadRunner has mentioned before...well... expect to pull the engine then the BOV can be done, but it is not for the faint of heart if you need more info on that as well, just ask... but the other guys have mentioned how to do it enough times... so... I refrain from beating that horse...
so... with the BOV in, and the marker lights... what do I think? well, no one has asked me if my car is broke yet (from the noise the BOV makes ... it's pretty neat... worth all the fuss? I am not sure... maybe if I knew it was actually making my car faster and helping the turbo out, then sure... either way, it sounds pretty neat... no other car I know of sounds that way... hehe...
so, both mods get my not-so-patented [sm=smiley10.gif][sm=smiley10.gif][sm=smiley10.gif] out of 4 [sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley8.gif]

Yeah, since I've got back problems to begin with, putting in a BOV was a dealer install from the start. You're right, it won't do anything for performance, but should put the fear of God in those whom you chose to race, just from the sound....add the Mopar/Borla exhaust and you'll probably find it hard to find a racing buddy....them's the breaks...[sm=smiley5.gif]

RE: Ordered Mopar BOV & other goodies
I've got the back thing as well, that's why I mainly layed over it most of the time. The CAI was murder on the back though, laying across the engine isn't an option and since it's all up front....[sm=smiley18.gif] Doing the lower section was nice, some of it was done lying down on the ground.[sm=smiley2.gif]
