MBC
i was just wondering because i bought a MBC off of ebay and i think it is a bleeder type. i installed it inline from the solenoid to the WGA and the boost peaks at like 18 and drops to like 14 and then will go up to 16 and backdown to 14 as long as i hold the trottle open. i want it to peak at like 18 and just hold at like 16. does anyone know if this is possible with a bleeder type MBC or if i installed it wrong. if so can you tell mehow to install a bledder type MBC the right way.
Hmm, thats weird how it goes down, then up, then back down? And this happens when its rising to 6k RPM??
Well anyway, its pretty simple install. Hose from your turbo, to the MBC, hose from the MBC, to the Wastegate. Thats it.
If your running it off the computer (black line), then I reccomend taknig out the black line competely, then the green line completely, then taking tube and connecting the turbo STRAIGHT to the wastegate. Then put the MBC in the middle of that.

i tryed those combitations and when i had the MBC closed the turbo would boost out of control and the computer would stop it. then when i open the MBC i would only get like 4 psi of boost and the more i opened the MBC nothing would change. the best i could get it was just running it inline from the solenoid to the WGA. which hose off of the turbo there are 2 of them. the one on the front towards the front of the back?
The one in the back, STOCK it comes on a GREEN line.
Me and a bunch of other friends with our SRT-4's did this.
You take the black line from the wastegate off, that line goes from the WGA to the soleinoid. Pull it off completly.
Then theres a green line that goes from the turbo to the soleinoid. Take that off completly.
You do NOT need to cap teh solenoid, even though I did.
Then run a line from the Turbo (where the green line was), to the wastegate. (where the black line was).
The hose I used came with my Turbosmart MBC.
Now, another thing, the MBC is supposed to attach a certain way, I cant tell you which way because im not lookin at it. But if you put 1 hose to the MBC on the wrong nipple, its gonna run wrong. So try both ways.

i was just wondering if the stock boost gauge is going to be reliable for setting the boost level. you dont have a diagram or anything to help with the install? thanks for the help though

stock boost gauge is fine. Its autometer!! They make great gauges.
do people have problems with some of them? Yea, but just like you would any gauge.
If it sits at 0 when the car is off, your fine.
See if this picture helps! I tried my best.

Yes, this will work for both Bleeder and Ball/spring.
I had a turboxs Bleeder at first, but then bought the Ball/spring.
Im actually going to take it off because my boost is high enough with my wastegate, I just put it on because i had purchased it already.
And yes, I didnt cap my solenoid at first, but after a while, i was at autozone and bought a package of Vacuum caps, and zip tied them nice and tight...(it looks cleaner).
