Well as i was leaving work and upon leaving the parking lot one of the staffs who has a wrx met up and headed off base to run... Hes had his for over a year and had put turbo back exaust on and a new computer so he was sitting at about 270hp. My car just has a mopar BOV. The first time i was behind him and he waved me to come next to him and i thought we were goin to stop and go from the stop, but as i pulled up to him in 1st gear at about 3k rpm, he punched it so i returned and he put about one car length every gear ill 4th then he didnt pull anymore.... we stoped at the next street and he turned off him computer putting him at about 240-245hp and we bull shizaed a little then got on the steet again to run, i pulled up next to him and we both gunned it and by about 5k in 2nd gear i had two cars on him, and it just got worse from there and i just kept pulling. He was impressed with car, and he had no doubts that stock to stock there is no contest.... fun...

I can't seem to get any of the whopping 2 (maybe 3) WRX's around here to go play... and the 1 STi I know of is always going the other direction

 

Get a Stage 2 and the Mopar/Borla exhaust with a CAI and you'll REALLY have something to BS with him about....(as you wave bye-bye in the rear view mirror).[sm=smiley36.gif]

 

on a side related note, I just ran into the one STi running around my home town... turns out the guy lives not too far from me, and has the same first name as me... haha... anyway...

no race/war story for the moment... but now I know the guy and where he lives... we looked each others cars over briefly... I must say, the STi is a mean looking machine we both pulled out of the parking lot with me in the lead, I nailed it hard and he hung right behind me the whole time except when I started to reach triple digits... after a while I had to turn and he gave me the thumbs up... I think I impressed him cause I know he "scared" me hehe... but then again, my car was about 8-9 grand less than his car

 

Try closer to 12K cheaper from my local Subaru dealer....anyway, I think they look like trash, as honest owners will admit the same. Besides, for 2K in mods, you can whip his butt and still walk away $10,000 richer......not a bad deal in my book!!![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

 

that's just the thing too Dusty, you never know how someone admits to the price of their car... my car was 21K and out the door with tax, title, etc I paid around 23K... the guy with the STi said he paid 30K for his (which is about right for this area)... whether that was out the door or before all the added on stuff, I may never know either way, my car is cheaper, and can be just as fast if not faster with really very little effort hehe...

actually, the only person I want to beat is my buddies 2001 Cobra... I know with an exhaust and Stage 2 I should pound him... but... haha.. that is 2 grand I am not spending right now I can still keep up with him and I still paid less for a 4 door

I gotta admit though, I like the "odd" stylings of the STi... just weird enough hehe... maybe it's because when you see it, you know what it is instantly... at least those with some car knowledge... of course, the same thing can be said about old Aztec too... haha... so... I guess I retract that last statement

 

I know what you mean. I was referring to MSRP, which according to the last auto mag I read was $30,995.....I think, give or take a few hundred. Taxes, fees, etc, will be higher in some states than in others. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Sounds like a car commercial!!!!
So, for the sake of argument, let's say one saves ONLY $8,000 after mods to make it equal to or better than the SuBooBoo. There are a lot of things I could do with that much green, as you probably could too!!!![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley4.gif]

EXACTLY.....when I took my SRT-4 in for the exhaust upgrade, the muffler shop emptied out, everybody was gathered around it....the owner of the shop quizzed me about it...and he had a Mustang Cobra sitting in the corner of the lot.....I think he's getting worried after I told him the rest of the mods I'm putting on....[sm=smiley36.gif]
