oh geeeze.......
Here's the deal.
My first performance modification arrived today. It is stage one. I am soooo tempted to do this install myself. I looked through the instructions and it seems a little hard, but doable.
Okay,,,,,this is what I don't understand. On the third page of the instructions, there is this part that says "air cleaner housing removal." I don't get that. This is the part that seems pretty complicated. If you replace the ECU, then you have to move where your air cleaner is?????? Am I understanding that right????

If am not mistaken, I think it is referring to the big *** stock intake box that comes with the car. Unless you have an aftermarket intake system. You need to move that in order to throw in the ECU.
alright izzy,,,,so what you are saying is that the stock airbox has to be relocated??? Dammit to hell,,,I knew there would be more to it than I thought there was.
The odd thing is,,,,if the air box has to be moved and all, then why aren't there other parts that come with it????

yes i just did mine......you have to loosen the air box unit enough to push it up out of the way. enable to get to your computer.. i didnt remove any wires really........i was able to get it up out of the way good enough.... it took less than a hour
it says to:
disconnect clean air hose from air cleaner housing
disconnect ambient air temperature sensor
remove turocharger solenoid bracket mounting screws
reposition turbocharger solenoid bracket
discommect make up air hose from the side of air cleaner housing
dislodge wiring harness clips on the side of the air cleaner housing
remove air cleaner housing mounting screw and nut
pull air cleaner housing straight up to remove
(this all has to be done to change out the ECU???)
