PSSSSHHHHHH!!!!
I promise you won't regret it, unless maybe you do the install yourself!!! Once on the road, it's a real kick!!! After some experience with it, you can virtually make it "sound off" at your command. This is better than a freon air horn at a football game!!!![sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
Try to get some Permatex Hylomar HPF Sealant as well...you only need a little. The Dodge mechanic used the stuff I gave him and said it was a good idea....(thanks to RR on that tip).[&:]
I just got home from the dealer (and after driving around a bit) from having the mopar BOV installed and I have to say I am a bit.. dissapointed. It's rather quite and difficult to hear above the sound of the exaust. I would compare it to me sticking my head out the window and saying Psssh in a normal voice. Perhaps the tech didn't know what he was doing and installed it incorrectly? I drove for a bit, I don't seem to be loosing boost and it peaks at 13-14 psi as usual. Maybe I was expecting more and thats why I was dissapointed? Perhaps it's something that was missed causing the audibility of the blow off to lessen? I'm not sure but for $64 and $70 install I'm slightly dissapointed. [&o]
hmm... I know my BOV isn't as loud when shifting out of first gear (I attribute this to the lack of full boost in 1st... man I need at least the stage 1)... with the windows up and the radio up I can't really hear my BOV, but with the windows down, and the radio at a moderate level... it's rather loud... also impressive, I was driving next to my dad (me in my car, him in his car) and down shifted hard and went through the gears... he was impressed at "how loud it was"...
sounds like something might not be right on yours?? It's hard to tell without taking it off... but if you have full boost still... hmmm... you do have factory exhaust right? you are trying it under WOT conditions right? and allowing the boost to build? without allowing the boost to build the BOV is worthless...

Tipop,
Most likely, it was installed incorrectly. I had one of those locally, the dealer the guy went to did it wrong, he lived with it for like 3 months til a mutual aquiantaince mentioned that it was really quiet. Since he and never talked, and I never heard a BOV go off, I didn't even know he had it.

Shows the coorect orientation. If those two holes dont point towards the drivers side, it's not going to be as loud, or operate as well as it should. It won't really affect your boost levels, just how well the BOV sheds boost.

Yep, the sound in first gear is a little weak, but the other gears rock!!! The more you wind 'em out, the better the sound. [&:]
