PSSSSHHHHHH!!!!
Way to go Dusty! If you really want to have some fun with it run up to about 40 in second and let it coast back down to 20, staying in second gear get on the gas, as the boost reaches 13 or 15 psi let off, it makes for one really loud, long. PPPPPSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH. And you will get all kind of attention if you do it comeing up to a stop light....have fun!
So here it is as odd as it sounds. I just got home from work saw the post, and went out to check to make sure and it is installed properly, with a lighter mind you.. (why does our cars not have a light under the hood? [:@]), it was installed properly btw. But now it sounds fine. What happened today was after work I was sitting in the parking lot and this guy was like, well let me hear it. So I revved it up and it sounded weak, barely audible. And he said.. thats a little quiet isn't it? Well anyway to make a long story short, I was P.O.'d at the blow off valve rev'd the engine to like 6,500 rpm and then... there was a weird noise along with the pssshh.. hard to describe. He laughed cause I said I probably broke the piece of ****. Anyway I went and drove around for like 45 mins just to see if I really did break it.. now its loud as hell. Well not loud as hell, but it sounds nice. I'm not sure what happened but still not loosing any psi peaks at 13-14, and seems to actually hold it better. Anyway I now give the mopar BOV conversion kit two thumbs up. The tech only gets half a thumb, and that half is cause he was extremly quick with putting it on.
I was thinking the same thing it was like a.. sorta quick bzzt sound, maybe he put the gasket on a little cockeyed? Hmm. But if I busted it would the BOV leak. Drive for 45 mins straight after the incident it show absolutly no signs of leaking.
i put mine in my 04 and it's as loud as i remember.[&:] it's nice to hear that familar sound.....c'mon dusty, you can say you didn't gun it a few times stopped at a stop light, or on your driveway before you cut the engine. hell i did, i'm not ashamed to admit it[8D].
Obviously, SRT-4 owners think alike....!!![sm=smiley36.gif] Now I wonder how I lived without it!!!!![sm=smiley4.gif]
Hell, I still do that all the time. [sm=smiley4.gif][sm=smiley9.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]
If I wasn't so busy lately I would have posted sooner to tell you what was wrong. He put the gasket on wrong, he didn't match up the smiley shaped cut out in the gaskey with the same opening in the turbo housing causing an 80% or more blockage, hence alot less sound. Reving it that high and hard put too much pressure on the gasket and blew it out. I highly suggest that you take your SRT-4 back to the dealership that put it in and raise nine kinds of hell. Have them replace the gasket, because if you don't it might start to leak soon due to the thinner part of the gasket being in the wrong place. It even came with very specific and easy instructions on how to do it and they still F'ed[sm=smiley35.gif] it up, now that's just plain sad. And to think, you paid this "professional" $75 an hour to F[sm=smiley35.gif] it up. He F's[sm=smiley35.gif] it up and your still screwed, because the parts and the labor on it have absolutely NO warranty what so ever.[sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley7.gif] This is exactly why I'll do it all my damn self. Get the part from them, read the instructions as well as what we here have suggested, and do it yourself.[sm=smiley2.gif]

Yup I thought the same, I drove home during the weekend at that time I took it in dads shop removed it, and it was fine. Really.. odd. Anyway, its back on now and sounding fine. I am still confused at what happened.. maybe during the "professionals" operation he left a scaple in and the pressure blew it out.. ha.. but seriously the only other thing I can think it was perhaps something was stuck in it.. piece of paper.. or peice those heavy duty papertowels they use in shops or something and when I revved it, the built up pressure blew it out one of the holes? I dunno.. but I'm weary of letting the dealer touch my car again.
