Totalled My SRT-4 - need help big time
Thanks everyone for your support - I have been real upset bout this - and am looking hard for an answer - going to the garage tomorrow and pulling the wheel myself to look and see what i see in there.
Ont thing that was suggested was that a seized differential could maybe cause this.
Any thoughts there?
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated and welcomed.
Thanks,
Adam

good to hear you are all right. Steven Lorenz was only a year older than me. damn that sucks. makes you think about driving this car. especially the way i drive. hope you can figure this out so we can get all of our cars fixed if there is a manufacture defect. just wondering if you were wearing a seatbelt and does anyone know if Steven was either? everybody drive safe.

First off thank god your okay!!!! You got really lucky.
Second:
Tie Rod End
LCA
Ball Joint screw where it attaches to the knuckle - this is what allows the knuckle to pivot, its very rare that it should pop OUT of place, but if it does, and your knuckle is stuck one way without the ability to turn the other way, your in for it.
Bad Spindle (Steering Knuckle) causes severe turning in either direction.
Caliper Drag from being frozen, stuck, or having a bad piston
Flat (but it wouldnt be as severe as you described)
I could say Wheel Bearing, but you would've noticed a very loud and obnoxious whining noise coming from that side of the car, as well as pedal vibration upon braking before then.
Thats all I can think of right now Adam...I hope some of it helps

+1......your still with us, thats all that really matters. Sorry about the car though. My thoughts going thru my mind when reading was a tire going flat.
Here at the dealer I have not seen any front end components having any problems with failure. We have done some wheel bearings that were noisy, but thats it.

what was the story with steven? what was he doing and why did he crash? i was just wondering so i dont do the same. what site was he one? sorry to hear about him. we all need to remember to drive safe and smart.
hey bro sorry about your car. Glad to hear your ok. idk if this helps but a while ago in my 1st gen neon one of the control arms in the back messed up. The bolt came lose and i start swerving all over the road. might want your mechanic to check that. its the arm thats connected from the back wheel to the frame. it was swerving more to the right then the left. it was the bolt on the left rear tire that started popping out. good luck with the search man and hope you get better soon.
