Default Totalled My SRT-4 - need help big time

So - unfortunately the car is no more - 40 mph into a tree. I am very lucky to be able to write this as we speak.

I need help. I have a suspicion that a mechanical failure caused the accident that lost me my car. I was doing the speed limit on a dry road in traffic and the car started to pull hard to the right when i was in a left curve. It felt like something broke loose on the right front wheel.

I have to figure this out fast - the insurance company is being very unhelpful of course and they are rushing the matter to avoid additional storage fees.

Does anyone know of anything that is common as far as failure of a wheel/tie rod/contrloarm/axle...with the 2004 SRT-4?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am in a real bind here.

Glad you're alright. I may have a suit going against them to. My wife's seat belt came unlatched and she was thrown in the back seat. My advice is to get a good lawyer so he can put a hold on the vehicle. Good luck.

thanks bb, vaughn, 300, and Amy

I am okay for sure all things considered - just a very bad concussion, and a couple bone contusions - yes very lucky.

I'll have the mechanic check the wheel bearing tomorrow am Amy - he just called and said he didnt have the wheel locks - doh - they are at mom and dads house with the rest of the contents of the car.

To be more specific, the wheel felt like it turned/draged to the right on its own independant of my steering to the left.

Thanks for the help all - keep em coming!!!!

Holy **** man - Niteshade died!!!!>??????? From hitting a tree!!!!!!!????? That is horrible - there could have been two of us - the cop and the adjuster who just checked the car said i shouldnt have been able to walk away from a hit like that - the roof was wrinkled as was teh a pillar, and all 4 doors - all from the force of the front end collision. It sent me flying 50 feet through the air. This crap is too scary! 99 times out of 100 i would be dead right along with him. I am counting my blessings.

Crazy thing is that all this happened at legal speed on a perfect day. No speeding or hard turn involved at all.

Any more suggestions from anyone are most appreciated.
