I was wondering if with the sts are your shifts goin to be real mechinical. ive driven a 88 5.0 stang with one and you didnt really have a smooth throw from one gear to the next.... it was like 1st click netural click 2nd.... and when im getting to the speed limit quickly i like to throw cause to me thats most of the fun of the manual.... so folks that use the mopar sts is it the same?

smooth? is a pigs @$$ pork? yes, the shifts are smooth, but shorter (duh), and more responsive imho. i never drove a stang, but the distance between gears is so much shorter that there should be any perceived sensation of nuetral from gear to gear. just a word of advice look into the booger bushings. when you cycle though your gears during "spirited driving" that authorative click when the gears are engaged is a welcome sound/sensation.

Let me know when you get your STS wether or not you recieved the installation instructions with it, because mine came with absolutely nothing except the STS and the booger bushings (the booger bushings came with their instructions). I still haven't put mine in yet.

Thanks for the instructions, I already knew how to do it, but for those like me that didn't receive them with the STS, it will be of great use.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Not yet. It will probably not be put in for a week or so, I'm wanting to get it in to the dealership for an oil change and to have some flaws fixed. It will be done after that as well as the front STB I ordered from Modern Performance.[sm=smiley4.gif]

cool, did you opt for the dc sport front stb? cause i got that about a week ago. there is a noticable firmness in the handling after the intall....19 foot/pounds of torque does seem like enough to tighten the nuts though, i went 25 ft/#'s. not only is it functional its pretty too. people have asked "did that come with the car?" [8D] i just recently got the dc sport rear stb too. install is easy but dressing it up was a challenge. i'll see about posting some pics. what flaws did you need ironing out?

Are the DC front and rear stb's easy to install? I think that is next on my list of things to do. Do you need any special tools or knowledge for the job? Thanks.

nah they're cake to install. all you need is the proper size nut i think it was 1/2 " and a torque wrench. as i mentioned before the rear stb may be a litttle more complicated depending on how you want your trunk to look. i opted to cut the padding and make slits in the exterior molded carpet/liner. i needed an other pair of hands to get it in to place in this configuration, but it paid off in the overall finish of the job. my srt-4 didn't get away without a scratch, but it was small and is covered by the carpet pad and liner/carpet. when i opened my trunk my friend asked what was it in my trunk and thinking it was stock was the reward for the hard work i put into a realitively simple install.

I really like the look of the DC FSTB and it's solid steel rigidity, but it seems to block alot of the ram air that goes to the turbo to help keep it cool as well as being heavy. I went with the lighter MPx FSTB, it's smaller and will get the job done like the one I had on my R/T. I will be getting the DC RSTB since it seems to be the only RSTB made for it.

The flaws are:
One of the bolts for the front license plate bracket that go up in the grill opening was put in too close to the front and has caused a buldge which splintered the paint and plastic around it on nose.

The top windshield molding is loose and on two occasions after freeway driving it came half way out and flapping against the top of the car and the sunroof leaving some of the sealer on the paint and glass.

The light in the window switch on the drivers side for the passenger side window and the light in the window switch on the passenger side for the passenger window are both out.
