Short-Throw Added to the collection
Well... I got antsy again... so I ordered the Mopar Short-Throw Shifter from Mod. Perf.... should have it by next week (later next week... seems they have sold out of them for the moment [:@])
any suggestions/advice on the install? should be straightforward enough... also, does anyone know of an adjustable shift handle for our cars?? Perrin makes one I think... but it's something like $179.00... I was thinking more along the lines of $50 or less... I didn't see one from Hurst or B&M... any ideas on this too?

nah, just keep the stock one...shhhh, sleeper. but congrats on the sts, i had one in my 03 and am persently having it installed in to my 04 with booger bushings. after the install you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. it is bad@$$ and very much appreciated with redline wot shifts.
see http://www.lake-effect-racing.com/SR...%20Shifter.pdf for instructions on the install- it's really easy.
I went to my local Dodge dealer today and got some price quotes on the sts, taillights, and the valve cover. Why is the dealer more expensive than everyone else? It is originally their part right? Dodge is the one making the stuf so shouldn't it be cheaper at the dealer? The guy there told me the sts is 15% shorter and that it's not worth it and I would barely notice a difference if I noticed anything at all. What do you guys/gals think?

You're always are going to pay the most for parts at a dealer. In most cases their "labor" rates are also among the highest in town and they justify it by sayiing their technicians are "factory trained" and/or certified. You can usually get a better deal on parts/mods by shopping the online parts stores or even Ebay. Two of my favorites are www.modernperformance.com and Henson Motors on Ebay....[&:]
dude the guy from dodge obviously never played with a sts[:'(]. look, i just had mine installed w/ booger bushings in my 04, and holy $#!t its ultra tight and way closer that the now "sloppy" stock stick in comparison. it is a worth while investment for less that $200. trust me you want one!
well, alright, maybe I'll get one and see for myself. The stock shifter was half the size of my old Corolla shifter so it seemed like a short shifter to me. Thanks guys
