Default Oil Question

What are the most miles that synthetic oil can last? I already have Mobil 1 5w30. How long does that oil last? Or should I go with the regular scheduled every 3,000 miles? Cus I am nearing 3,300 right now. I dont have time to get it changed... your help is much appreciated!

3mo/3k is best. you can probably push it to 4k, but i wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis.

I do mine right @ 3000. I haven't had any trouble. In the winter I use Mobil Syn 5w-30 and in Summer 10W-30

If you use your SRT-4 as a more-or-less daily driver, I would stick with the recommended 3 mo/3,000 miles even with synthetic oil due to the extreme heat build up in the engine/turbo.....next to friction, excessive heat is your engine's worst enemy.

The guy at the dealership told me that it was safe to drive it up to 4,000 miles or 5,000 miles without an oil change, not to sure how legit that really is, or if he was just trying to make my car get serviced more often...

2500-3000 miles at the most that you want to go on a turbo motor. The turbo on your car will make you burn any kind of oil faster then a non turbo motor. Just make sure your using mobil 1 or Valvoline syn power and getting it changed evey 2500 miles or so!

3mo/3k. neither of myneons go over 1k in a month, my sxt is lucky to get 500 in a month. so usually every 3 months. except for long road trips. then i change before and after (2000 mile trip giong back home).
also remember, dont neglect your fuel filter in addition to your air and oil. its very important to keep clean as well!

well they say that you can go about 6k miles on full synthetic oil..i still change it every 3k miles..and i never drive the thing only to cruise and race...just to throw it out there i use quaker state full synthetic oil for turbo'd or supercharged engines. **** works like a dream..i think...
later...
