Gotta say one thing and that is glad I had insurance. You shouldn't be able to drive a car without it. I mean everybody. One thing I will miss is driving that little thing - it was fun!!!! Ya, even old farts loved that SRT-4.

 

I could swear I heard his car sputtering when he took off, I caught up quick, no problem. I guess I am not as mad because I was already planning on getting a carbon fiber hood, but I did want to beat the mexican flag out of him yesterday, thats for sure.

 

Izzy, I think you did the noblest thing possible in that situation. Even if you did have him arrested/deported, your hood would not of been fixed. Compassion is underated these days.... On the other hand, he was not being responsible at all! I was just thinking of what I would of done in your shoes, and I can't say that I would of done anything different (maybe except speak to him in Spanish, haven't practiced since college). $hitty situation bro, but just think, because you gave that family another chance at a better life and prevented them from getting f'ed over for an accident, you will be rewarded with a CF hood..... karma my friend....

 

I am glad you see it my way bro, alot of people scolded me for letting that guy go, but the consequences he would of had to endure over some bumps and scratches on my hood wouldn't be fair atleast I think so. I was hella pissed off, I am not gonna lie and I wanted to knock his teeth out of his mouth and stab his eyes with my keys, but I didn't, I held back, relaxed, thought about the situation and let him go. I just hope he is grateful and learns from this and doesn't run into any more people.

I'm compassionate too, but it just irks me that he pulled off on you. Yes, I am sure he was afraid of the consequences of staying, but to whack someone's car and then just drive off......cannot fathom doing that. That's about as gutless of a thing that someone can do. If he were someone decent, he would have stayed and plead his case with you without running. His running away is what gets me. If I were in the situation, knowing me, I probably would have done the same thing, but it just really irks me him running away like that and leaving you holding the bag.

More I think about this, the angrier it makes me. I shouldn't be surprised when people who come here illeagly do illeagle things.

 

Sorry about the ride Izzy. I understand about having an accident with an uninsured motorist...its sucks a big one. Glad you are ok and I am amazed you let the guy off the hook. I try to be compassionate, but it only goes so far.
