Default Mopar CAI problems

The other day I bought a Mopar CAI. I also have an AEM short ram but am trying to go for the all-out mopar look in the engine bay. I installed it this weekend and the first issue is that the vaccum line that goes into the valve cover don't line up correctly so there is a slant in the vaccum line. Second issue is that it sounds kind of "whiny" when accelerating. I know that this is a vague desciption but has anyone else noticed any issue with the Mopar intake? I could just be paranoid.

The AEM is a short ram and after I make sure the Mopar will work correctly.

I know, I think I am going to put the AEM SRI back on, this Mopar CAI sounds sketchy when I accelerate.[:'(] It was also sort of a pain in the *** to install.

AEM SRI ftw. Though the Mopar is just an AEM CAI with an "M" on it.

The only reason that wouldn't line up properly is this: try re-adjusting the 90 degree coupler that goes onto the turbo until it seats next to that hole in the VC properly.

Then again your best bet is to do this:
Put a Vac cap on that piece of the intake, and run some 3/8" hose from the crank down to a small filter.

Its whinier because the air coming into it is colder, the noise your hearing is turbo spool, 100% normal. I opted for an SRI because of the weather around here.

Great idea lilsparkplug! I will just run a small filter from a 3/8 in hose. That would be easier than trying to take a part the coupler and re-aligning the pipe. I know the Mopar CAI is the same as the AEM CAI. For some reason I just like the look of it the CAI better. Thanks for the help!

I just swapped my Mopar intake out today for the AEM SRI lol

The Mopar was louder... And sounded better IMO... The whine is there with SRI, it's just not as loud. Or you just cant hear it as good, depending how you want to say it. Never rode in a turbo diesel truck? The whine would be familiar.
