What the highest, safest boost levels you can run on the stock turbo?

my friend peaks at 22 than he holds 17-18 to red line.Just make sure you do something to fuel like a fuel pump,stg1 and stuff like that.Me on the other hand only peak at 17 than it drops to 14-15.I have never had any problems.Thats with no upgrades for fuel.I would not hold any more than 15 psi to redline with out any fuel mods. Thanks bro, thats what I was thinking too peaking at 17 and holding at 15. I am getting a manual boost controller thats why I was asking. Thanks bro...

modern performance said the stock turbo can handle 19psi.....im sure it can handle more...but you stand a chance of it not lasting long

 

Whenever I see questions like this I think of Dansrt4, fastest stock turbo no nitrous... 11.8... Boosting 23/15.

I then think of all the people "holding" more boost and are no where near his performance.

 

You can hold more boost with a Mapclamp and a Fuel Return line I believe. But I'm no expert. I'd say 23psi is around max.

 

yea but he will **** up **** if he dont do anything for fuel!I mean you could hold that much like i said my friend holds 18psi to redline but he has mods to support that.I would think if you where running that much on the stock fuel system you might be running a little lean LOL sorry i didnt mean to reply to yours man LOL.I was just saying it for any one to hear.

 

stock turbo can support up to 20 psi. u can peak higher and drop. with a manual boost controller i was peaking a 18 psi and would drop to 10 psi. u need a wastegate to hold boost better.
