Default 1ST SRT4 Mods!

Whats up guys, Im new to the forum and need some help with my recently bought SRT4. I got an 04 with 10k miles, Im have about a 1k budget and want to get the most bang for my buck. I just put on my $20 OCC today. I also have a Mopar BOV, STS, and Apex TT on the way. I cant decide what else I should get to go with these mods. I want a WGA but cant decide on Mopar Stage 2 or AGP. I cant decide on CAI or short ram, and which brand to go with. Im also thinking of boost controller. I will probably get the Mopar Cat-Back also. I would like to get some info from you guys who have already modded yours. I have had other turbo cars, but didnt really do anything with them. I want to make sure I do this one right. Thanks for the help.

if i restarted it over i would do this.

k&n drop in filter-45, dp with e cutout-375, mm inserts-30, new wastegate-80-170, s2 injectors 200, boost controler-75-300 and that would put you in a good place for not much if you can do the work yourself. and prices are ruff estimates.

if you wanna up the boost get a stg one or 2 otherwise you will be dealing the with damn ck eng light and get some stg 2 inj so you can run the higher boost levels better.

Ok here is what i did.I did the agp intake 1st, i love it its a 3in intake and i had the cold air on for a while then i went to the short ram because i live in fl and i dont feel like geting water in my turbo LOL.And to be honest with you i did not see a differnce with the two.Then i got the agp wga,the best damn thing i have done so far.Some people say you get a over boost code but i have never got one at 17-18 then it drops to 14-15- redline.I have alot of **** now but those where the 1st things i did and the hks ssqv .Which dont do anything for performance,i just wanted it .I really seen alot with the FMIC from agp.I got my car dyno and it was at 275hp with just it being a 05,agp wga,fmic,turboback and intake.So i say get the intake 1st its just a little something and you really wont see any thing different .But you will hear the turbo better.THen WGA.But dont turn it up tio high with out fuel mods or you will be runing lean . ERic

I would just buy Stage 2, there isn't many problems with it and its just overall easier, as far as catback if you plan on going with a bigger turbo setup go with a 3" turboback otherwise the Mopar 2.5" is fine.

i had a turboback system and just a wga and my friend had the stg2 and my car dyno more than his.For both of those mods it was like 650.00.How much is the stg2? My friend had the one with the turbo toys.Maby my car is a freak LOL

s2 dynos really low because it needs actual air flow to give the correct a/f and "correct" to s2 is still super rich.

Thanks for the input guys. Its just hard deciding for sure what are the best mods for my budget right now. I was going to get the stage 1 but it seems like a waist of $ for only 10hp. Is there any difference between the stage 1 injectors and the ones that are on the 04 and 05 Srt4. Does anyone know the flow rate of the Stage 2 injectors? What about CAI vs Short Ram? I live in the south now but am moving to Philadelphia this fall so I think the Short ram may be better for me. Thanks for the input on the exhaust, I do plan on running a bigger turbo at some point so I may wait on that. What about MSD wires and Iridium Plugs?

The S1 injectors are the same as the ones in the 04-05 SRT-4's. As far as the CAI vs SRI people will argue about that one all day long, its really is up to whether you want to spend the money on the CAI, and if there is tons of standing water around where you live. I have had nothing but great experience with MSD wires, but others have had problems.

I have the MSD's, definately a good buy. I alos preach the AEM SRI, one of my personal best buys. The stg1 might not gain an incredible amount of hp, but that is not exactly what it is for. Rather, it unleashes the cars potential a little more and allows other mods without throwing codes. I pretty much got my 04 with the same setup you have. Apexi TT & Mopar BOV. I then got the SRI and threw on some 17 inchers w/ 225 meats, which did wonders for wheel hop and traction. I plan on getting some suspension & brake work next before I beef her out any, then probably exhaust (That side exit Turboback setup that MaxxFab has is sick!). Just what I'd do, but I'm a newbie so......
