Default Oil catch can help?

Ok heres the deal i just got an 05 srt-4 on my birthday. I bought it used with 4000 miles on it. Its got a few thing done to it like the wastgate and boost controler but not an OCC so after reading how importand it is to have one i bought a weapon-r. I know, I know, I could have done it alot cheaper, anyway i hooked it up today PCV>>>CC>>>Intake and I end up with a funny idle (high mostly and jumpy) did I do something wrong? help me out please!!!

The hose you used might have collapsed from the heat.....what type did you use?

Well, if you truly hooked it up like you said you did, then that is your problem! It should be PCV>>>CC>>>TB & Whatever-you-call-the thing-on-the-otherside-of-the-valve-cover>>>>CC>>>Intake. These are two different setups and it seems you combined them.....

I used the line they gave me its clear with a white braided look to it. Your right it does collapse from the heat! so thats my problem then? What about the fact that my OCC has a built in filter thats open to the atmosphere? Isn't that a big vacume leak at the TB wouldn't that cause my idle problem??? hmmm

The filter should NOT be open. The only time it should be open is to dump out the oil thats in it. Yes, you have a MAJOR vacuum LEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An OCC should be a sealed unit that catches the oil in a removeable or drainable container. An open element air filter is nothing more than an open element air filter and not to be used on/in the PCV line. A common mod is to use an open element air filter on the emissions hose or the valve cover itself on the drivers side of the valve cover that goes to the air box or the intake tube on a CAI and a cap on the other end (the cap being on the CAI tube or air box where that hose originally hooked up to). Just get the Campbell Hausfeld MP5138 from Auto Zone and follow the instructions in the thread above about the $20 OCC installation instructions. Here is a link to it: http://www.campbellhausfeld.net/weba...9493&langId=-1
