alright guys i have a 98 neon and a 2004 srt4 engine and ecu i need to know what i need to do the swap, "motor mounts any brackets" and im using my 1st gen tranny with the new engine. i just need to know what to do once i have the motor out. will the mounts bolt right up by any chance? if anybody knows i would appriciate it. i just need to know what all i will need and if i need motor mounts where exactly will they be put on the frame?

You really neeed to get a new tranny .Dont use the stock neon one!

 

im going to rebuild the tranny and put a new clutch in and a short throw so im not worried about the tranny i just want to swap the engine and i need to know what i gotta do to do it.

 

Just buy a T850, or throw your motor out the door. Better off having something that bolts right up, a T350 even built is far too weak.

You need:
FMIC
CUstom MMs and Brackets (they dont fit right in your car)
Bracket for the PCM
Interior wiring Harness
Engine wiring Harness
T850
Instrument Cluster, which means full dash swap (the PCM needs the cluster)
etc etc etc....

Its more than just an engine.

 

this might sound really stupid to you but what is the t850 ive never heard of it

 

It is the tranny that the SRT4 comes with.....

 

Its made for the power the car has, and can handle power FAR past that with an upgraded clutch and flywheel. Its an excellent transmission with entirely different gearing than that of the T350 that came in most regular standard neons.
