Default $20 OCC question

i installed a $20 occ this morning and from the pics ive seen the arrow on the top of the filter points towards the rear of the car. i used clear tubing and ive noticed that the oil is in the tube leaving the occ but not on the other side, there is quite a bit of oil in there for about 40 miles and was wondering if that was the way its suppost to be?

This is the page I followed to install my OCC. I have my arrow pointing toward the front of the car but on these pics it is pointed toward the back. I don't know if it makes much difference, but I'm pretty sure mine is working.

No matter how you have it mounted, arrow facing forward or back, as long as the hoses are hooked up in the right direction you will be fine. Actually you will be fine either way, but it seems to flow a little better going in the right direction. The hose coming from the PCV valve should be going into the OCC in the direction of the arrow and the arrow should then be pointing to the outlet hose that goes where the PCV hose hooks into the hard plastic line. Then everything is fine.
