these are the easiest axles i've ever pulled out of a car, try doing an axle on a toyota on the R/F, that's a pain in the ***, trying to get the bearing out of the motor mount

You don't even want to know...stupidest thing ever.

We were putting my lowering springs in, I go to have a cigarette, he ****ing UNCOMPRESSES THE SPRING by undoing the bolt, while the assembly is STILL in the car. Mind you its unbolted from the steering knuckle, so it SHOOTS into the axle making this poor CV boot here stretch beyond oblivion. Needless to say, the CV dislodged itself, and had to be slammed back into place, popping the boot, releasing air pressure....yeah *squirt* went the axle.

The car is making weird creaking noises now....weird whining noises, and the wheel doesnt feel right (the car tracks hardcore to the right). I ordered a boot repair kit, but its becoming more and more apparent that I need a new axle.

And I'm not paying for it. Plain and fkn simple. Ill lose a friendship over it I don't really care. He offered to help me put the axle in...YEAH OKAY AFTER I spend over 150 dollars on something YOU broke?! Yes...I am angry *woosah* that didn't work...so anyway...

I did some emergency surgery on it tonight at school because it lost almost ALL of its grease. (and the axles/boots are out of detroit so it takes 4-5 days to get here) I removed the clamp, stuffed a tip from a grease gun in there and handpacked the boot with grease for a non-disc wheel bearing. Its thicker than the grease that was in there, so its less likely to squirt out, and more likely to stay a bit longer until I AT LEAST get the boot in on thursday. I put a hose clamp on the end of the boot (all I had) and duct taped (wooooo 200mph tape meng) the outside of the boot, tight enough to keep dirt out, but loose enough to flex with the boot while turning.

I'm ghetto...so is my axle. I'll take a better picture of it tomorrow in all its duct taped glory.

thats sounds like a costly mistake on your friends part.............but he did offer to help........and mistakes do happen..........maybe ask him if he could go in half?
and if he was a friend to begin with.......i dont see this as ending it???............or bite your tongue.pay for it yourself.......and be more carefull on who you let work on your car[:-]

remind you... these are the steps i would take myself if i was in your boots
