Hey Dusty... you think there is a slight chance that he didn't turn the ticket in?
Could be. I once gave a ticket to a lady for speeding who told me she was late to pick up her handicapped child from class at a local high school. She looked kind of young to have a kid in high school so I held on to the ticket and followed her to the school a few miles away, and sure enough she went in and wheeled out a VERY handicapped boy in a wheelchair. She got him and the chair in the SUV and drove off while I tore up the ticket.....she had enough problems without me adding to them.

cop cars accelerate really slow? guess you've never seen a cop in ny......these cars are fast as hell. camaro state troopers, and even a corvette that sprays.

consider yourself lucky, slow down, and get a good radar detector!
I saw a black and white charger police car the other day here in jersey, it looked badass
with the black rims and oversize rubber. You were lucky Izzy, he could have nailed you
sooo bad!
rumor has it that nypd highway 1 ordered 8 hemi chargers for their line up....not looking forward to that one!

Consider that a definite miracle! Not the first time i've heard of tickets getting 'misplaced'. Keep your mouth shut about it and slow down!! haha. I would however hold on to the ticket in a safe place JUST in case it pops again. Never know.

That was quite noble of you Dusty, such a good guy...This topic is nice, makes me believe that there are humanistic people on the force and that it isn't just a source of revenue for the city....

Thanks, but I felt like the mother was the "noble" one. She had basically given up anything close to a "normal life" in choosing to care for her son rather than sending him off to an institution. It was a "wake up call" to me. My kids are healthy and were still a handful to raise. I don't know if I could do what she did.......

Don't remember where I read it, might of been in here somewhere, but a trucker was saying to pay the fine $5 over the actual amount. Then when they send you a refund check for the $5 burn it (don't cash it), because then the record will never be closed. They can't come after you because you paid the fine, but they can't submit the ticket to the records (insurance, etc) because the file is still open. Don't know if it is true, but dude was saying he does it all the time and his insurance has never rec'd word on any of his tickets....

Your are very lucky. !st. ?? why that fast with your girl in the car... You need to go that fast do it alone, cause if you chrash alone that's it just you. And dont count on that other advise, ask for trial and that 99% of the time will cut the $$$ 1/2. Last of all My Charger in the post is my Patrol car here in Hawaii. I strap the blue light to the roof before work and take it off after. We use our own rides for work here. Not bad.
