Default New Shell Stations

I've noticed several new Shell gas stations springing up around here lately. I haven't used their gas since the 1970's. They're advertising some new "cleaning" additive in their gas now. Any user's comments? (I'm a diehard Chevron fan, that Techron additive works for me)....[sm=smiley16.gif]

I use Shell every chance I get!! But up here in Michigan, they are disappearing one by one... I LOVE Shell gas... or well, I did... they are hard to come by in my area now. I only know of two.

I have used shell ever since I can remember...as have my parents. Its great stuff, but all they sell as premium is 93 octane, and Im not entirely sure what it is doing for the performance due to its resistance to combustion???...who knows, maybe I should head over to mobil for their 91

whooooooo...thanks dusty, thats a load off. I was just reading the manual the other day and I came across the page that said dont exceed or go under 91 octane, and I got scared for my new engine

BTW, Im still under 500 miles on the beast, and Im dying to crash into the rev limiter after I hit 1000....watch out people...the blowtorch tailpipes arent far away

They (DCX) don't want you to use less than 91 because it reduces the power and effectiveness of the engine/turbo. Anything more than that is just (expensive) insurance against lost power after adding Stage 1, or especially Stage 2....but I'll continue to pay the few extra pennies, just in case....[sm=smiley20.gif]
